Alcohol is a silent killer. Early diagnosis followed by intervention is an effective way to reduce alcohol related harm. Thanks 🙏 to

for sharing such an important message so elegantly.
Professor Stephen Ryder, a consultant at Nottingham University Hospital, has called for the government to recognise the severity of the UK’s drinking problem.
“Unless action is taken now, we will see that graph of deaths rise further and further,” he said.
@PreetKGillMP
If we are serious about long term improvement on management related issues such as equality, tackling organizational racism we need a strong regulatory body for NHS managers. All healthcare works in NHS are heavily regulated by GMC, NMC etc why not managers !!!
@Microbedoc2
There are examples when trainee were denied access to specific training list as there were competing professionals whose training is funded by HEE. Trainees are paid by deaneries and have time restricted training why they don’t get at least equal opportunities let alone better
@UKGastroDr
They are not qualified to give sedation, thier scope of practice still need defining. Pt harm stories are already there. Just don’t make any sense other than money take priority over pt safety

How do you deal with this ?
Hi doc i think pt has UGIB
Why do you think so?
Because their Blatchford score is 10
Is there melena - No
Is there hemetamesis- No
Why you calculated BF score ?
Because they have low HB

I strongly support the junior doctors strike but not entirely confident about BMA campaign.
In personal view the priorities should be
1️⃣Improving quality of training
2️⃣Better staffing & safety
3️⃣Improving access and quality of care
