I'm a healthy 24 year old and I just feel permanently exhausted during the working week. I get home and basically collapse. HOW do you super men and women get home after a full day teaching and take care of a family because I can barely take care of myself 😂😂😂😂

Oh my heart. I told the class yesterday I was feeling very sad and upset with how unkind they were being to each other and I had a very bad day dealing with all their hurtful incidents. One of the quietest, kindest little cherubs handed me this today. So thoughtful. 🥺🥺🥺

Two girls in my class protested they 'don't like books' and when I asked what they do like they said fashion. These will be waiting for them Monday and hopefully be the start of a reading journey. 🤞🏼📚

Last weeks tired teacher meal prep proved a hit. This week we have loaded wedges. 🥔🍅🫑🧀 Chop potatoes, put in oven with seasoning for 45-60 minutes. Sauté red onion & garlic, add low fat beef mince and fajita seasoning. Top with chop veg and cheese. 😍

Today Y6 became history detectives & started investigating the question ‘Is the Sainsbury’s 2014 Christmas advert an accurate representation of the 1914 Christmas Truce?’ They analysed primary and secondary sources and took notes. Can’t wait to read their final, written answers🕵🏼‍♀️

Short teacher friends who can never find wide-legged trousers at the right length, I have made a great discovery. M&S have these amazing and comfy 'cropped' trousers in different patterns but they're not cropped for my 5ft 1 frame and make the perfect summer trousers 🤣

3 months into teaching spelling through phonics in Y6 as part of my appraisal and 71% of the children have increased their score using the 2017 SATs spelling test. The biggest increase is +7 with an average score change of +2. Wish I started at the start of the year!

This programme has highlighted the lack of appreciation the public have for ballet. The combination of strength, grace & technicality, how physically & mentally demanding it is as a sport, the hours spent training & practising. He was bloody phenomenal! #TheGreatestDancer @BBCOne

@GMB @KatyRickittITV Horrified at how insensitive these comments are - most from people who don't even teach! Nobody is saying schools should not be inspected. The system needs a huge change. Why do schools need a label? A simple report with strengths & areas of improvement would do the job.

My school in Dubai finished for summer on the 5th July. I've not worked for 8.5 weeks and rather enjoyed the lady of leisure life a little too much🤣 Today is however the day I'm back in the classroom. Looking forward to new beginnings 🤩

Easy meal prep inspo for tired teachers🤣 1/2 pack of microwave rice (do not heat); any veg; chicken, onion, garlic with any stir fry sauce. Pop two in the freezer. It does mean having the same lunch all week but that doesn't bother me. I mix it up with different fruit & snacks.

After getting myself into some right Twitter spats today (note to self - don't comment on any news about education), one of the major problems in the UK is that the public thinks because they went to school/have a child a school they know what teaching is like and how to teach.

Can’t believe how much I’ve learnt just from the first chapter of @TheWritingRevol . Going to start by embedding in the conjunction activities through warm ups. I’m intrigued to see if they really understand the meaning of different conjunctions.
