I'm doing a month-long night contract that comes with a $2000 bonus. If you're absent for any reason, for example being on strike just 1h of your workday, or getting covid, you don't get the bonus, even if you just spent a whole month doing only night shifts.

Also more children on the street, I guess due to the new safety.

I've lived in rented apartments my entire life, & honestly was just fine doing it. Never felt that it was any less "my home" because I didn't own the property. Something changed in the last few years. It feels like a repossession/renoviction notice is always a looming threat now.

I fucking hate the curfew. Walking is one of my only coping mechanisms, and I often have too much work during the day to go out then. After 8pm is when I would wind down to try to lower my anxiety before sleep. Now I work all day with no walk as a reward at the end.

The metro benefits you in many ways even if you don't use it. Ex. Hospitals stay open 24/7 because many workers are able to use the metro's late/early trips to get to/from work. We need to look at the STM not as a for-profit company but as a public service, like roads/hospitals.

@CharlotteERosen That's horrifying. Literally nothing more chilling to me than human medical experimentation. They did a bunch of medical experiments on Native children in Canadian residential schools (last one closed in 1996!!). People don't know about that one either.

Today, many of the hospital employees were on strike and ooooffffff was it ever a hard day. We, the nurses, were in full support, as our co-workers will support us when we strike on Wed/Thurs. The doctors also echoed their support every chance they got. We all deserve better.

My cousin in Poland bought a house & my grandpa thought it was too small, so my dad told him, "it's ok, he can sell it & get a diffrnt one in a few yrs" & my grandpa got so mad, said "it's a house, u buy it to live in! U can't just change it like a pair of gloves every few yrs!!"

Almost all my Nursing classmates that I've asked plan to move out of Québec for higher pay. You know how expensive it is for the province to be training all these nurses, just to then drive them away with low salaries? Make it make sense.

I'm seeing more posts in landlord groups regarding issues where tenants who are moving out can't leave bcs they can't find a place to move to. The landlords blame tenants entirely for the situation, saying tenants don't respect contracts, willfully ignorant to the crisis.

I don't understand why Montreal hasn't completely banned plex conversions into single-family homes yet. I see landlords talking abt doing them all the time, & it makes me go insane. Mtl's working class plexes will soon just be gutted facades for mansions for the wealthy.

If you're a little bored and want to do some good for the world, make a fb account specifically to comment "wow, too expensive, you're robbing people" on overpriced apartment ads. It warns newcomers to the city about overpaying, and it really does bother the landlords. 😌

Nothing like leaving the ICU at midnight (that has many empty beds because of the nurse shortage) to go straight into a packed metro full of the maskless Saturday night party crowd. I'm not even judging, I don't even know if I care anymore. It just kinda gave me whiplash.

Just saw a landlord suggest to purposely destroy a tenant's credit score (like actually contact Transunion/Equifax) over 1 month unpaid rent. You absolute piece of shit, you just made sure she will never again find a place to live. How could u be so vindictive towards poor ppl?

I will be voting no! 🚫 Québec politicians gave themselves a 30% raise, but for us nurses, 17.4% over 5 years is supposed to be enough? Québec police voted no to 21%, and Québec nurses are supposed to vote yes on 17.4%??? I think not!!!
