Mega Man X Innocent Impulse has been updated to version 0.2.2!
This update contains most of the missing content we initially planned for v0.2, as well as several bug fixes and quality of life improvements.

A kind reminder that you CAN remap your controller inputs in MMXII.
Just pause the game and scroll for the configs tab to find it, you can also do this in the prologue stage by picking the option button in the pause menu, like in X4.

New QoL feature showcase: Weapon Cost Assist
Activate it in Options to highlight a portion of your weapon energy bar. The highlighted portion shows the weapon energy that will be consumed if you use a weapon.
Ok, so we're back to work. For v0.3 we're adding lots of new content, including an extension to the Chilly Fox storyline and the consequences of your actions if you decide to not spare him. Expect to see similar events with other bosses too.

A thing I'm experimenting with.
In some X games shooting while dashing makes the shot slightly stronger. I went ahead and expanded on this a bit more, making charged shots have the dash damage bonus too.
This will probably become a chip part ability.

Had to try this. Because of the lower jump height I had to adjust the platform to 3 tiles instead, otherwise the original Iceless jump would be impossible. This made it somewhat easier since you can actually turn left this time. I'd say now it's as hard as X2's Gator capsule jump
I might've not had much to celebrate MM/MMX's 32th/26th anniversary, but I'm still hard at work.

I can't believe I actually managed to pull this off, so many years of trying to climb this section with unarmored X and no parts.
This section is super bad for normal play lol but I like it when games have silly challenges like this, like finishing X1 without dashing.

The armor will be added to the game in a future post-release update, with revamped abilities, a special story scenario, and a Smokin' Sexy Scarf!

The other image found with the early design of the Crusher enemies suggest that it might be assets from an even earlier build than the "White City" build, as the Crushers look final even in that one.
Still working on version 0.2.2 of the game. We're adding a few requested QoL things, like the ability to skip cutscenes.
What option would you prefer for this? Pressing Start once to skip? Or pressing it once to make a prompt appear and then again to confirm?

I was told that the light projections of the capsule were too dark to notice due to the stage's lighting, so I made a quick fix for that. Not shown in this gif, but it also affects the lightning that strikes the capsule when you get inside.

Sorry again for the absence, I just went through what was probably the worst time of my life so far so I've taken a bit of a break to adjust my gears back in order.
The project has changed a lot since then, here's a small preview of what I've been working on lately. More soon~
I've setup a debuff system for X, so I can add all kinds of fun effects to enemies and stages. Here's X getting burned by lava and receiving a [Burn] debuff that applies damage over time for a short duration.

This is absolutely unacceptable. No matter how talented or experienced they are, making pixel art animations is really tough and artists should be recognized for it. Kensu is a great guy and definitely doesn't deserve to be treated like this.
I spent all day trying to find an alternative to Construct 2, as there's several things wrong with its collision system and 0 official support for it since it's abandoned. I sadly didn't have luck, but we'll keep trying.
So far Godot is the most promising alternative.
- This is, again, only a technical demo. Future demos will have more content and more stages to play, so please be patient as we work.
With that said, I hope you guys enjoy it~
