This novella is out in a month, I really need to pull my finger out and promote it. It's a serial killer horror, cat and mouse, it's got two husbands who hunt gifts for each other. It's packed to the brim with CWs, it has a satisfying ending, and so far everyone seems to like it.

I was reading a review today: and it implied that if there are a few typos/mistakes, it hasn't been edited. This isn't always the case. I read three mistakes in a NYT bestseller yesterday. If you see the odd typo in my books, that doesn't mean they are not edited.

@ask_aubry My ex was like this. I had a lumbar puncture and complications from a spinal bleed, and post natal psychosis, but for years after he would tell me how traumatised he was by the experience. As if I was required to coach him through it.

So a reviewer gives 4 stars, and an author thinks it's OK to challenge the reviewer. This is NOT OK. This is never OK. If you have typos, sort it quietly and be glad of the 4*. This is embarrassing behaviour. #AuthorsBehavingBadly #Again #Sigh

It's a Schroedinger's Novel. A novel if it's Gatsby, or Lord of the Flies, but not if you're querying. And this, my loves, is why I indie publish. If a book wants to be a svelte novel, it can be. Shadowed Ink will be 50K. And it will be a just right skinny minnie dark fantasy.

I just blocked another writer; honestly I'm surprised I've got any left! This one got offended because a new writer said that self pub is expensive and is struggling to save for an edit. At no point did they disparage editors. This writer said that the editor spent money and time

How do you describe that thing when someone sighs through their nose, as I would say, like, they breathe out through their nose in a, hmm, alright then, kind of way? I'm pulling my hair out here.

Right so I don't know who needs to hear this but if it's you, don't do it. It is not a good marketing strategy to contact a female reviewer to pose for raunchy or nude photos with your book as a prop. It is sleazy. And if it's you? Go wash your brain out. Disgusting behaviour.

I have just been reliably informed that in colleges in the US, lower than 60% is an F. Is this true? It would make some sense as to why authors get a fit of hysteria about a 3*... In the UK it would be under 40%.
