Listening to the Jacobin podcast and they're talking about being terrified of people drawing anarchist conclusions from the string of electoral/state failures we've now witnessed across the world, the campaigns of which they credit with having 're-birthed the socialist movement'.

A world is possible where all human needs are met with 3-4 hours of labour across 3-4 days, under conditions of our our choosing, with no relationship to the right to freely access what we need & want in life; food, shelter, etc. a world with no bosses, rent, politicians, poverty

This crisis is so clearly demonstrating the anarchist view of social change - that it manifests itself in response to a) the needs of capital in shifting conditions, b) popular self-organisation & activity. Electoral efforts, certainly policy, simply reflect conditions produced.

Glad to see people talking about the futility of electoral politics - but that analysis will remain fundamentally hollow so long as there is the belief that this is only due to an inability to win power. The real problem with electoralism is that it fails even when it ‘succeeds’.
