My girl was downtown MPLS for work today and went over to St Anthony Falls, the only natural waterfall on the Mississippi River, and took this of the raging river. Lock and Dam 1 downriver from the falls is closed due to high water.

Found out today that a great way to age myself was to mention trading PIK Certificates. Those of us that lived through them and managed to be alive to talk about it consider it to be a sign of great strength and never asking why, but just doing it because it was a money pit.

What a difference a day makes. PNW last night said, "I need soybeans." Pumped up the basis 13 cents for November. And suddenly, BN secondary shuttle freight for returns also came alive last night at: Bid +$400 over and offered +$700 over.

Flashback Friday. It was October 2016 when I first taught my twin G-sons to sing “Go #Cubs Go” & they were quite intent on learning it. They eventually mastered all the words and sang it every game right up through the @Cubs World Series victory. And they are still singing it!

Heard this today & saying the situation on the river is bad is certainly an understatement. Some barges were already loaded with drafts deeper than the reduced drafts and require cargo to be removed so not to exceed new max draft. I’ll have a story ready on Mon with more news.

This is the Mighty Upper Miss today in St Paul. She is in major flood stage at 17.62 feet and will crest mid week at 18.8 feet. Some empty barges farther down river but couldn’t get close enough to take a picture. Main road along the river closed.

So many moving images remembering our fallen heroes at Normandy Beach on D-Day June 6, 1044. This is perhaps one of the most moving. On Peace Day 2013, 9000 silhouettes of soldiers were etched into the sand on Normandy beach. This was to commemorate the fallen from D-Day WWII.
