Folks.Let me be clear.The wealthy do not take out student loans. I’m now a professional with student loans and it’s bc I grew up in poverty and worked my way out.Nothing , including education was “handed”to me. Everyone deserves the opportunity to succeed without student debt

how many of the 45M plus borrowers owe less than $50k ? Anything not cancelled over that pretty quickly becomes life long debt again under IDR plans with 7% interest. Kicking the can…they know it and most importantly WE know it. #CancelStudentLoans @SecCardona @4slj_

Everyone deserves #CancelStudentDebt . The program was designed to take advantage of students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds and have them pay the price for corporate profits for life. Marketed as a way out of poverty but really just another mechanism to keep us down

@AP Navient steered millions of borrowers away from IDR plans into forbearances.Never any mention of #pslf .They would do anything to just keep the interest tab running.Given this outcome.I implore @usedgov to change the #pslf waiver to include forebearances.We’re not making this up !

@mstratford I have no idea what this looks like. They can’t even handle the #pslf limited waiver applications. We are all waiting for responses. Everyone is in limbo . Many of us do not even know what our payments will be if we have had to recert our income and it’s changed since 2020.

No one is going to college anymore for jobs that don’t pay what they are worth. Teachers are severely underpaid and now we are asking them to be health care experts

Yes! It’s impossible to get records and then to get them fixed once you do get them. Not many can properly navigate and advocate for themselves . This system is was too complicated and highly inequitable. @SecCardona @FSACOO

Yeah the guy down the street got $75k in PPP loans for their small business. Paid himself to stay home during Covid. But Student loan borrowers got a pause on payments…could’ve paused PPP repayments..but no they were forgiven. #equity

@SecCardona @usedgov How about a “fresh start” for forbearance steering? You MUST address the ability for borrowers to “buy-back” those months. It was a deceptive practice utilized to delay #pslf or loan forgiveness. And to add predatory interest to loans. At least give us an option for it to count.

@JasonSobelTAN We need both. Watching at home leads to going in person, following golfers etc. However, when tickets cost upwards of $200-$300 a day , the experience should be worthwhile. Drinks, food etc are pretty pricey and limited seating outside paying for an upgrade really limits it.

@SecCardona 1. They are not counting student payments made in forbearance 2. Predatory lenders placed loans in forbearance for 10 yrs. (You may not even know) 3. Beware: there are many reasons why you will be denied forgiveness 4. lose your job and then you’ll be paying for another 20 yrs.
