So the Russians put up a pontoon over the Seym River immediately after or even before the bridge was destroyed. Ukraine meanwhile lost 3 HIMARS, 3 patriots and 1 IRIS-T making potholes on the bridge. I would say that's a very good exchange. I hope they try more of this.

Let's see how many of them pan out. The only one I believe will happen is the attempt to cross the Dnieper but I'm not sure it will happen this week. We're still far from the July NATO summit and there's a risk it will bog down just like the offensive without achieving anything

The battle of Avdeevka eerily resembles that of Bakhmut. Serious assault began in winter, massive gains first which then slowed down. Now we just need a Soledar moment in January to complete it. More importantly, Ukraine is repeating all the mistakes of Bakhmut.

The war in Ukraine is absolutely winnable for Ukraine. It’s western partners just need to spend half a percent of GDP on aid. Something that Baltic states exceed by a factor of 2-3x without issue. Half a percent of U.S and EU GDP would be 237 billion dollars a year.
