Morning @runningpunks ! Just finished a gorgeous 5k run today around Kersal Wetlands, and the air was crisp enough for me to start getting excited about the autumnal weather coming our way. So close to the halfway point of my 60 mile challenge now as well (29.1 miles = ✅). Boom🤘🏽

And just like that, my ‘Run 60 Miles in September’ challenge for CRUK is finally over! I ran my local Salford Parkrun today to officially end this challenge at a total of 62.8 miles/101 km completed. Thanks for supporting me (and @runningpunks for accepting me into your gang!)

Just finished working my first week at @LhouseLabsUK @AlderleyPark & apart from my back being sore (I’m just old, obvs!), I’ve been blown away by the positive attitude of workers and hearing stories of how they ended up volunteering there. Now I need a big glass of wine... 🦠🍷

In my 14 years of working as a technician, I have never experienced a more stressful time in my career. I have broken down several times over the last few months, and having to double up on workload with reduced staff numbers on site hasn’t helped either.

I have been a lab tech of sorts for over 13 years. For 70% of the time, I LOVE my job. The learning, the problem solving, the interaction with staff and students, helping people, the hands-on practical work, the randomness of each day etc. The other 30%, it’s a real grind. 1/5

Not only was it my first time “officiating” a wedding today, but I “officiated” a lockdown Zoom wedding for around 80 guests! Huge congratulations to my bestie @GemmaLace and for not letting a wee global pandemic spoil her beautiful wedding day ❤️👰

Super excited about having a set of cutlery (including chopsticks, a straw and straw cleaner) all completely made of bamboo and environmentally friendly. Plus for nerd points, it looks like a snazzy new dissection kit 😁 thanks @amylouisehall88 for the heads up! 🎋🍴🥢

Just finished hosting our Aurora Action Set at @SalfordUni @UoSMediaCity , and what a productive meeting it was! It was amazing to be in the presence of inspirational women, and being able to discuss our issues without fear 👍🏼 @janinep79 #IAmAurora #womeninleadership @AdvanceHE

Despite feeling ill yesterday, today I managed a 7km run and now I’m over halfway (33.5 miles) through my challenge! If you’re able to donate anything towards life-changing cancer research, then I would super appreciate it. Thank you 🫶🏽
