I am sorry, but Ewan literally gives one of the most Targaryenish vibes in the show, where he plays overconfident and deeply hurt Prince, who listens to nobody and owns the giant dragon.
He IS Aemond, and many reviews praise his acting.
Just imagine if Jaehaerys interrupts the Small Council meeting by running inside and calling - Papa! Papa!
And Aegon, who was scolding Otto seconds before, just becomes all smiley and shiny because it's his little perfect boy, and he will never be angry with him, unlike Viserys
"heir to the throne" & "pony ride" - Aegon giving attention and protecting Jaehaerys even in front of lords of Small Council, smth which Viserys most likely had never done for him.
The way Helaena doesn't do embroidery for Aemond and Alicent, only for her children and Aegon.
The way it's her silent way to say - 'I love you and I care about you'.
The way she sews good luck symbols for her twins to protect them and Golden dragon for Aegon, consisting of two
Viserys spent ages with that Lego, but not with his children.
Aegon spent only 5-6 years with Jaehaerys, mostly being a child himself, and we know that he was proud father.
Aegon looked at that Lego, thinking that he would do better as a father.
B&C took that chance from him
It's kinda worse than Aemond's behavior with his Small Council. He at least doesn't beat them.
She slapped a man of her father's age, her ally. And for what? For trying to advise her?
I bet there were other ways to make him shut up and listen to her than just being violent.
Aegon used the words 'sanctity of my family' while scolding Criston. Not safety or security.
Sanctity.
That's only stresses Tom's world about the way Aegon sees Helaena and twins. As souls so pure that they are sacred to him.
The first time we met twins was in Alicent's chamber, not in the Helaena&Aegon's rooms.
She brought them to spend time with Alicent.
Aemond also walked in just to visit his mother in that scene and spend time with her.
involving the children of the dance much earlier...
Where's Daeron the Daring, the youngest and most beloved son of the Queen Alicent and King Viserys, who with Tessarion were considered to be the bigger threat than Aemond during the Dance, and should have been since s1?
Bethany Antonio explains how โHOUSE OF THE DRAGONโ season 2 will differ from the books:
โWhile the overall storyline remains largely consistent, the showrunners have executed a brilliant adaptation by involving the children of the dance much earlier. For example, my character
One of the purest love of Helaena and Aegon's lives, wearing the small crown with ornament of his father's gold color and a gem of his mother's blue-ish...
His shroud is embroidered with owls, which symbolize protection, omens, and the ability to see clearly in the darkness.
Not only did he want to prove himself after being undermined by everyone, but he also saw his people being burned by Meleys and commanded to Sunfyre to fly faster.
It's funny how you forgot that Otto is NOT a Lord of Oldtown, so Alicent and Gwayne are not direct heirs of the House Hightower.
Imagining that their death would destroy Hightowers is like thinking that Renly Baratheon's death would eradicate House Baratheon.
The way Aegon never even thinks about using Helaena in war so much coincides with the words that for his character Helaena and kids are pure souls.
Helaena has Dreamfyre.
Yet, every time battles were mentioned, Aegon always spoke about Sunfyre and Vhagar as the ones to
HC, where Jaehaerys would have been an introverted book-reading King, sometimes seen as timid by more hardened lords even despite having Shrykos, but then Queen Jaehaera appears flying on Morghul and everyone just shut up about her twin&husband.
Jaehaerys would have been wisdom
Tyrion usually called Cersei a "sweet sister."
Before Dance started, Aegon called nyra "sister," and just a moment before Dracarys-ing her, he called her "sweet sister."
"Sweet sister" is not a caring way to address siblings, more like a mockery.
'Is it worth the price?'
Helaena quietly asks Aemond this with an empty voice but contempt in her eyes because Aegon and Helaena care about each other in a siblings' way, and now she almost loses him right after Jaehaerys.
Coronation scene:
Otto, shouting to open the door, so more people could escape.
Alicent, protecting Aegon.
Aegon, who didn't close his eyes even when Alicent did it and didn't turn away until smelling stinky dragon's breath.
House Hightower, by the end of the last book, is one of the richest noble houses and with each second of their neutrality they became even more powerful while Lannisters, Starks, Baratheons are killing each other.
only one of them was dumb enough to make their entire house disappear and not even be remembered 150+ years later and it was not rhaenyra ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
Alicent: You are weak, Aegon.
Aemond: You don't know a shit of High Valyrian.
Aegon: Forward, Sunfyre!
Sunfyre: Common Language or Valyrian doesn't matter to me! Yes, my bestest human rider and companion!
Aegon almost had a panic attack that moment, not being able to believe that everyone around him thought about politics more than about his loss.
Almost the same panic attack Helaena would have during the funerals.
The way she looks at the only person who was going through the same pain she had, being dragged back in the box, clutching to the last straws of strength to remain amidst living...
I just realized that on that dinner, Aegon dealt with both characters whose actions led to Aemond losing an eye.
He introduced Luce to the table the moment that little jerk went again to Aemond.
He shrugged off Baela as she was nothing and just went away with the grin.
the prince at first refused to be a part of his motherโs plans. โmy sister is heir, not me. what sort of brother steals his sister's birthright?" only when ser criston convinced him that the princess must surely execute him and his brothers should she don the crown did he waver.
It will turn out that Aegon was angry that Aemond sits on Jaehaerys' chair.
There is no other reason, possibly, except that and blaming Aemond for causing all of this, which will make him lose his bravado in arms of brothel lady.
Tom also said that their relationship are not salacious at all.
They are brother and sister. He loves her as sibling, above all, and sees purity in her, as well as in their children.
That's why she offered a necklace, in vain, hoping that b&c are just thieves not connected with her dreams.
That's why she quietly begged - please, please - when she ran away with Jaehaera. In hopes that she will wake up now and everything will be alright.
The way right before Aegon walks into the room Helaena whispers " they only want the boy" while she's sitting next to his bed ๐ฅฒ๐

Laenorโs alive, so Rhaenyra's kids with Daemon are bastards. This means Aegon is not only the last dragonrider King but also the last Targaryen king according to HBO.
Big shoutout to them for this plot twist, it's my feel-good thought when I'm chilling
What? Why? How?
Alicent's son killed Nyra's son. Nyra's husband killed Alicent's small grandson, as well as traumatized her daughter and granddaughter.
Aegon, by this time, faced the consequences of the Rook's Rest battle.
Friendship narrative seems to be NONSENSE after above
His father loved him, Aegon smiled at him, held him in his arms when they entered the Small Council room, protected him when he was teasing Tyland, and called him a good boy.
Sunfyre was claimed by Aegon.
The same goes for all other Rhaenyra's siblings - they claimed their dragons, even 6 year old Daeron was bonded with Tessarion whom he claimed.
There is no mention about dragon eggs being put in their cradles, not by Rhaenyra nor by Viserys.
What also pissed me off in this scene is that Aemond didn't even move to follow Rhaenys.
He continued flying over the place Sunfyre and Aegon landed and turned Vhagar around ONLY when Rhaenys herself approached.
Wasn't the plan to kill Meleys and Rhaenys, their actual ENEMY?
Aemond, standing like he was ready to fight Meleys with his bare hands.
Helaena wasn't frightened and didn't turn away like she did when Vaemond lost his head.
Cole, protecting his family as a father figure he is.
VS
Rhaenys, killing ordinary people for unnecessary show.
You know, we have never seen Aegon smiling that shiny, sincerely, and widely before.
And we, most likely, will never see him smiling like that again.
Even Criston, who stood near, was looking softly.
i am once again thinking about gentle, touch-averse helaena holding criston in a moment of danger. criston, who did not spend time training her like he did the boys, yet she still trusts him and feels comfortable around him because heโs probably spent other time with her ๐ฅบ๐ซถ๐ผ
Okay, what if it is their wedding rings, and that's the one Aegon was twisting while weeping alone?
Because he lost part of purity he was treasuring and he felt guilty as if he failed Helaena and twins, failed Jaehaerys even in death, not being able to protect him from Otto
1)He was rushing to the Small Council meeting, and he didn't have time for more interaction.
2)He didn't ignore Jaehaera. Jaehaera was deeply in her play with pines, and Aegon just checked on her.
According to leaks, Aegon's arrival is to be unplanned... but this is too much of improvisation from Criston of a sudden appearing of the King on a dragon.

S2:
โMen-at-arms, your king has joined you! Hold to your courage, hold to your wits, for the Seven have blessed and shielded this host with divine purpose! For the one true king,
The way Aegon called Aemond - fucking mad c*nt - when he heard about village being burnt with smallfolk shows that Aegon still cares about people.
It didn't change even after RR. Even though these people were for TB.
And it painfully coincides with Helaena's ' I won't burn
I like Aegon being furious.
And even Helaena doesn't look crushed with grief in that small promos of her we already saw.
She looks quite composed and decisive.
The way Aegon called Alicent 'Mummy' when he was in pain.
The way Alicent is Aemond's cryptonite.
The way Alicent was glad that Daeron grew up to be kind and stalwart.
The way Gwayne made her sure that she did her best with the children.
The way Alicent betrayed them all to
Number 1 offered his 11 years old daughter to number 3 for marriage. And didn't look concerned when both of his kids died days apart.
Number 2 endangered his children's lives only by creating them( I didn't know how to phrase it better).
@MissTeamTherapy
I bet Vhagar chose him EXACTLY because of such bravery and didn't kill him during the flight.
Or does someone believe that legendary battle-dragon had not been able to kill the kid?
That's the kid with whom both of them, Helaena and Aegon, grew up with.
Tom said that Aegon is a funny father who doesn't discipline twins.
From 1st episode, it seems that Helaena was the one responsible for discipline, as she told not to interrupt Jaehaerys' customs.
I want to see more of Aegon's friends.
Like he is the ONLY of Alicent kids shown with friends, who are always near him.
In the throne room, later drinking together, when Aegon will be raging in ep2, and even at the funerals...
They are near.
The only brother to hurt Helaena in the show was Aemond.
The only brother to not listen to Helaena's wishes was Aemond.
Helaena felt safe enough to share her fears with AEGON.
He understood her "rats" too directly, so in the scene after, we see RATCATCHER in the castle.
I don't understand helaegon fans the characters don't like each other even as siblings they don't talk that much except aegon bullying helaena. It's not surprising writers has nothing to offer that ship where in book also there was nothing other than aegon isolates helaena.
King Aegon's color is Golden.
Queen Helaena's color is Blue.
Mix these colors and you will have dark green - the color of their banner, as they are their heart.
Queen and King, Blue and Golden dragons.
@almijrabal79805
Mysaria being made the children rights activist was shocking to me.
In the book, she was one of the worst, participating in b&c and brothel queens, but show seemingly decided to whitewash even her.
The range of emotions that Tom gives as Aegon in brief post-b&c scenes makes me think that we won't survive the first two episodes without bawling our eyes out for his character.
Haven't seen father in Westeros world that actually cared so much.
Tell them that there is no need to fight anymore.
King's mother sold them all to the enemy.
Or does she really think that only her sons are 'opposition'?
-Daddy, will I be as good friends with Shrykos as you are with Sunfyre?
- Sure, good boy. I will show everything better than these dull dragon masters.
And the way Alicent stormed into her own chamber looking for her eldest son also hints that Aegon visits his mother often, so she was sure to find him there.
Love how team Green feels like a small, cozy neighborhood, where we can normally discuss things and give a hand to each other in debates with other neighborhoods๐
Do you know what Aemond's main mistake was?
Burning Aegon.
It ruined everything, every ounce of trust that his family could have for him after killing Luke and starting the dance.
Now, even if Aemond was rightly saying that their lives are on the line - as they always were,
@castielmipastor
Have I ever mentioned her dreams in the tweet? No, I mentioned her as a rider of one of the oldest dragons left, not as a dreamer.
Also, Aegon cares for her as a sister, and it was mentioned in actors' interviews, as well as we can see the example of it in s2 - Helaena mentions
Why does it sound as if Rhaenys looked back at how Aemond and Vhagar were wounding Aegon and Sunfyre and decided to give one last fight to distract them?
+ How strategically stupid Aemond is! In one episode, he shows remorse of killing Luke, only to kill his brother in next?
what we know so far about house of the dragon s3 from tom glynn carney in panel;
- possible aegon and rhaenyra sharing scenes
- more accurate book scenes to the show
- tom wants to be in writer's room and they have consider to hear his opinion
WE'RE EATING GOOD
1) He hurt her a few moments before this scene when he grabbed her and pulled her by the wrist, so even Alicent had to intervene.
Thus, he is hesitant to touch her again as he needs her help, and hurting her won't help.
2)Aemond literally desperately threatened her seconds
Geeta also said that Syrax was Dany's dragons mother, but Ryan denied it almost immediately?
The fact is, per book canon, Helaegon is canon. No hints of Aemond and Helaena having some kind of affair even.
Per show canon, we saw that Aemond hurt Helaena when she explicitly
Aegon is looking at marble Jaehaerys used to play with. Everyone around are silent until Larys comes in, saying they caught Blood with the prince's head.
Aegon silently stands up and walks out without any word, only cold rage on his face.
@brunostirl
Luke is so annoying for last two episodes that I was glad when Aegon banged his head at the table. It looked like as a little avenge for everything...
Favorite TG characters by the end of s2:
1. Aegon (most consistent writing +Tom's acting made its magic).
2. Helaena (even Martin praised her show character, and Phia is wonderful)
3. Gwayne (the way he is the most rational there and how he became favorite that quickly should
Fun fact from Westeros and real world history - it's not expected from nobility to take care of their bastards, and most of them do not even know about bastards existence.
That's doesn't mean that they do not care about their legitimate children. Even in the book Aegon grieved.
@M_a_r_y_L_
Love how everyone tryna say Aegon is a proud father as if we didnโt see he had his bastards in child fighting pits. Bro is the worst father in the show by far
So. Alicent saw what Viserys did to her. She saw how he didn't care that Aemond(his son) lost an eye. She saw him, saying that he would torture people, who said truth to him about Strong boys.
And then she says to Aegon - you are a half of a King your father was.
"Sunfyre" was the name given this dragon of the golden dawn. โwritings of Gyldayn
Sunfyre, also known as Sunfyre the Golden, was a male dragon ridden by King Aegon II Targaryen.
If Viserys actually wanted Nyra to be an heir, he could change the centuries old succession laws of Westeros to absolute primogeniture with the help of Master of Laws and make lords renew their oaths after this since he already had sons born, which caused almost the same
@collectortreas1
She openly despised her brothers in the book, specifically calling them "half-brothers." And in the show, she asked to sharply question wounded Aemond. In the book, Maegor usually "sharply questioned" people, which was a courteous way in Westeros to say "torture."
Helaena told Aegon that she was afraid of rats.
He then looked around the room to check for rats.
Only after that we see Cheese twice - in the Small Council and throne rooms.
Thus, Aegon did not pay any attention to him in the evening, when b&c passed in front of him
In fact:
A) Rhaena married into House Hightower and had 6 children.
B)House Hightower fought on Targaryen's side during Robert's Rebellion.
C)Margaery Tyrell is a daughter of Alerie HIGHTOWER.
