Some Storm studies I did before starting on Resurrection of Magneto. We ultimately kept the X-Men Red outfit but I wanted to try an update of the original costume with long cape, shoulders, white instead of yellow and this hair.

I’m ruminating on why it made me cry to see mini Wiccan in costume last week on #wandavision . There’s something healing about seeing a known queer character one usually projects in, as a kid doing kid stuff. Queer lives include our childhoods and we rarely get to see that rep.

Does this count as manifesting in a way? Years ago I created this queer Wonder Boy in a world where a queer Robin or Superman was unimaginable, in a fanfic that almost got made canon but that didn’t happen. I kept making art of him for a while, with great love for the concept.

Amalgam’s Amazon quick redesign. All this talk about Storm in the politics field made me think of a certain other Goddess Archetype who acts as Ambassador of her nation, and their Amalgam. Does it still read Ororo enough with black hair? It’s more of a direct amalgam with Nubia.
