My dad put LED light strips on my wheelchair and now I'm gonna look like the disabled version of those lads that take a perfectly good corsa, wrap it matte black, lower the suspension and fit it with an obnoxiously loud engine and tyres that probably aren't even road legal

Today in a cafe, the man serving asked "What's that?" pointing at my face and then "What's wrong with you?" It's not even the first time this week that this has happened. Having your body very loudly and publicly labelled as 'wrong' is intensely painful & embarrassing.

Baffles me the amount of people who accidentally say 'Prince' Charles and correct themselves to say 'King' with no issue at all. But if a trans person uses a new preferred name or pronouns, all of a sudden its 'selfish' and 'difficult' and you can't possibly correct yourselves

Hi Rishi, I went to Uni to do Astrophysics. Instead I got: chronic illness due to your party's shitty covid policies, mistreatment because I'm disabled, and student debt. I'm now working in a creative industry and it's far better. But which degrees are you classing as a rip-off?

UK university courses are funded solely by student fees. Scrapping 'rip off degrees' does not save government any money at all, so I have no idea how it enables them to fund more apprenticeships.

No matter how many terms you coin and papers you publish. You cannot be an advocate for autistic rights if you don't also advocate for trans rights. To be anti-trans is to be anti-disabled, anti-black and anti- every other marginalised group. We expected better Judy.

Decided that one of the worst things about being chronically ill for me is that I can't even get upset about things that are distressing. You go through ableism, medical gaslighting, lose friends and family and yet if I cry it will set me back for at least the next day.

@hassaan97 Another side to all this which makes it worse is that I thought Hassaan respected me as a non-binary person and understood. But now I know he just viewed me as another women he wanted. He never respected me in any way, at all

I remember the collective disappointment when people found that there's a wheelchair item in acnh but you can only sit in it like a chair and it doesn't function like a wheelchair. Let us roll around dammit

I need more wheelchair options in video games! I want to see my wheelchair in every game I play! I wanna put my acnh villager in my wheelchair! I wanna roll around my farm in stardew in my wheelchair! I wanna see it incorporated in every game!

Had a wonderful suggestion on Instagram that I should name my new wheelchair Saraqael after @thelizcarr brill character in @GoodOmensPrime . Loved the disabled rep this season, always here if there's plans for a disabled demon 👀 I think I'd quite enjoy having a frog on my head

@callumwarren115 Yesss they look brill!! I was looking for those kinds of lights at first but couldn't find any for the right wheel size so we went with these. If I ever need a manual chair though they'll probably be the first thing I order

Does anyone know of any paid roles within disability, accessibility, higher education that are fully remote working with less than 10 hours a week? Struggling to find any kind of job as a disabled, neurodivergent and chronically ill graduate

@hassaan97 All of Hassaan's interactions were about separating me from my partner and my family to go and see him. After 1 month of knowing I existed, he tried to make me leave a family day out in London to go and meet him alone and pretend it was coincidence I bumped into him

Always baffles me when events for disabled people aren't accessible for the same disabled people they claim to celebrate. How can the List have sponsors such as Google and not even have an online element? @ShawTrust

I’m calling on @ShawTrust to make the #DisabilityPower100 event accessible and have an online element as well as in person. To not do this keeps so many disabled people out. I would love if other nominees did the same

@chichiclothing Its nice to see you edited the caption of your Instagram post with a sub-par apology before turning off commenting. You do not understand the frustration. You cannot launch a campaign called Celebrate You if you are not willing to celebrate EVERYONE

Some more about me: I'm particularly passionate about disability in the media, TV and film and gaming. If you have any opportunities that might suit me/help me achieve my silly little goals you can DM me or email: lauren @lgilbert .co.uk

Genuine question here, how on Earth, especially as a disabled person do you find people that stick up for you and make you feel included? Like actually genuinely wanted and reciprocate the energy you put in.

Adjusting to this would've been so much harder if I didn't have the support of the ME community, and the wider disabled community. I love you all so much. We are not disposable and we never have been, despite what people say.

I can only hope that more research around post-viral illnesses is done, because no one deserves this. Until then, we have each other and we need to stick together. Thank you #pwME and solidarity to others with #LongCovid today. #NEisVoid #MyalgicEncephalomyelitis

@hassaan97 He said 'it would show real commitment' if I did. On another occasion he mentioned if someone brought their friend or partner with him to a meet up it was 'not appropriate' as it was 'robbing him of an opportunity' and 'as his friend I must be glued to him for 3 hours'

People might reply to this about a non-disabled kid playing a disabled kid and say "It's called acting", but no one can play a disabled kid like a disabled kid. Again, if a non-disabled kid was cast as me I'd just feel like I was being mocked publicly for everything I do

@hassaan97 These are just some of the things he's said and done since I started talking to him in June last year. I thought he was my first genuine friend ever, but now I know he never cared, he didn't want to help, it was because he had fantasies about me

I don't want to see ANYONE excusing Hassaan's behaviour because he's autistic. He sent this to me on the 12th of March this year. He is fully aware of his actions, even to the point of condemning other autistic men's identical behaviour. He knew what he was doing for months.

@TheExaltedWolfe Well there you go, you've now learnt of 100 reasons instead of just 1 by asking someone! Now you've learnt more, and you didn't have to interrupt someone's day to ask them an invasive question

@djwby My chair is the Quickie Q50R Carbon and we just got it from my local mobility shop. There's more info about it online but it's been ideal for me as an ambulatory wheelchair user and folds up nicely in the back of the car

@thetalentguru Absolutely all of this. And the last part too. Idk at what age it's considered acceptable to be disabled but for whatever reason I'm apparently not it 😂
