I respectfully disagree. A rent cap would not provide more stock, it may in fact force some landlords to sell up thereby reducing stock even further. I don't know of anywhere where a rent cap has worked. The Edinburgh Experiment currently in place doesn't seem to be delivering.

Almost half of new mortgages approved in last 3 months of 2023 were for 30 years +. These homeowners will prob be older than state pension age when their mortgages finish and repaying in retirement. This trend has huge implications as I’ve written before

The only thing that disappoints me is the fact the #BankofEngland could have gradually added 0.25% to the base rate every 3 months for the past 2 years without hurting the economy. Instead we get 1.65% in 8 months which will only hurt people.
