My mum was (and I guess still is) a single mum to me and my sister.
We lived in a run down council house in Bootle, my bedroom had damp and mould on the walls and was unusable. Every Friday
The point is, it never leaves you. That feeling. I can’t imagine how it must be nowadays. It’s worse. People in work with families having to visit food banks etc
@BBC6Music
“Under blue moon I saw you
So soon you'll take me
Up in your arms
Too late to beg you or cancel it
Though I know it must be the killing time
Unwillingly mine” 🔪🌛
had to literally get on your hands and knees to find one more penny so you can get a pint of milk cos your little sister is crying...
“you will never understand, how it feels to live your life with no meaning or control....”
I’ve just seen two lads on vintage Bullseye get all the prizes off the prize board THEN gamble it all for the special prize THEN win it the lot and thats first time I’ve been genuinely happy in about two weeks so that’s the level I’m at RN
It’s a bloody disgrace and it makes me so angry that there are still kids in this country going hungry. Unnecessarily. Living like that affects you for your whole life. And unless you have lived that life, seen it first hand...
The other day in Tesco I caught myself adding up my basket, that little panic, the little moment of worry again. Even though I could easily afford the whole basket now because I’m lucky enough to have a nice job that pays ok, a safe home, no one depending on me.
How amazing was

If you haven’t seen it before, “Pulp: A Film About Life, Death and Supermarkets” had just gone up on YouTube. Highly recommend if you’re of that persuasion
I’ve missed the
#BooshListenalong
but seems like a good time to remember the party me and my good pal Harriet went to as Howard & Vince. It was Easter weekend so we had an Easter egg of Mantumbi 🥚

Women need the Women they see on TV everyday supporting their cry for help and change, not just trying to promote hair dye kits to them! Enough is enough!
Fridays were “food day!” Memories of the weekly shop, mum adding up each item as it goes in the trolley, hoping she hadn’t got it wrong and not having the right money to pay, having to put things back. The embarrassment. The shame.
I could not give one solitary shit if Jeremy Corbyn is Leave or Remain tbh. It’s not up to him. But I do know he’s against letting poor and disabled people die unnecessarily and that’s the last thing I’m going to say about The Politics*
*no promises
"You name the drama and I'll play the part..." Pulp's This Is Hardcore is 20 today. What's your favourite song/ 'lyrical drama' from Jarvis and co's sixth album?
