The difference between undergrad and grad school is that in undergrad I would sprint to catch the bus and now I will simply wait 15 minutes for the next one

my brain cannot remember all the 100s of sources/sec lit I have collected for my thesis but it can for some reason, remember absolutely useless facts about star trek
Does anyone have any favorite lit on museums and the history of donation from the public & how donating to museum is tied with public spirit/nationalism/feeling of involvement in community etc?

First Readers are!
We've always had amazing Readers, but this team cut through 3000 submissions in 9 weeks. I've done this 8 years, and that's unheard of.
Endlessly grateful & in awe of our volunteer team π
As you know, our Digital Library is a collection of documentaries, interviews, maps, and photo galleries. Now we are adding a new element: research articles. Read the first two articles here!

was going to say Middlemarch, but you've read that! Vanity Fair is also a favorite of mine, another "set in a earlier era written in the Victorian" one
Thinking about Fanny Price and how genuinely sad it is that some readers dismiss her the same way the Bertrams do. Fanny IS timid, maybe even βinsipidβ as Austenβs MOM (wow mom π) called her.
Please join us in congratulating UBC History MA student
@luixialee
, who has been awarded a UBC Killam Graduate Teaching Assistant Award for outstanding teaching, research and service to the community!
I genuinely love wandering through the grocery store in a trance while listening to to top 100 songs through a bad loudspeaker, and getting confused by the rearrangement of the cracker section (if I can figure it out, I solved a puzzle)
sheβs not Lizzie, she canβt naturally speak as freely, so when she does it actually takes a lot of courage. Anyways, thanks to

Since the passing of our founding director Jane Jacobsen, we have seen an outpouring of love and grief that has been overwhelming. So many friends and colleagues have been sharing their memories of Jane that we that we created a Tribute page on our website.

Congratulations to UBC Historyβs Coll Thrush for being awarded the Killam Teaching Prize! Dr. Thrush has inspired and mentored undergraduate and graduate students at UBC since 2005.

I took several public history classes that were crosslisted as grad courses, if I still have them I can send them! If not I remember some of the books/readings
but also when she stands up for herself, itβs that much bigger of a deal - sheβs naturally not outspoken, sheβs very dependent on the Bertramβs financially and sheβs not in a position of power.
@HannahntheWolf
also, I find that hard coconut oil or earth balance soy-free margarine are good butter substitutes, and either soy or coconut milk are good milk substitutes!
This afternoon, UBC History students crossed the stage and became the newest alumni! Congratulations, Class of 2022! ππ
Here's a list of the Majors, Honours, and Graduate students, as well as the titles of their theses and dissertations.
