For those asking for links to some of my past Twitter threads & livetweets on BC issues, here's a selection: 1. Fracking quakes cracked a major BC dam in Northeast BC not far from #SiteC , the #PeaceCanyon dam, & the BC gov't covered it up. Jan 2020:

It’s interesting that we talk about minimum wage & the poverty line but never discuss maximum income or limits to wealth? Why do we allow people to become rich enough to buy every level of govt & indeed bring down civilizations? And yes, that’s actually happening

The left's failure on Covid is, of all of the left's failures of the last few years, one of the most disturbing to me. It's a horrifying confirmation of just how empty the left's talk about concern for workers & those less privileged & abled is. Silence on a libertarian hell.

Just FYI, we are in the middle of a major Covid wave right now. I'm surrounded by people with positive Covid tests. If you have "cold" symptoms you should check. With every Covid infection your chance of Covid goes up, even if your symptoms are "mild," & you can pass it to others

Heart disease and stroke are 33% higher than expected, vs. before the pandemic Public health isn't going to tell you this, but actuaries will. Also note the other main two causes of excess deaths have also been linked to Covid: respiratory infections & diabetes #bcpoli #cdnpoli

There's an intense debate underway: is the disordering of the immune system after Covid (Long Covid & more) permanent or not? Too early to prove 100% definitively, but see this 18-year-followup of SARS1 survivors. More than *half* still show damage.

Media: Yesterday Dr. Bonnie Henry announced no more school exposure notices because they're "anxiety provoking." Today she said BC won't use rapid tests because they're inaccurate, despite their proven worldwide success. Are you going to challenge these statements? #Covid19BC

This is becoming weirder & weirder. Rob Shaw *himself* launched the witch hunt against Sanjiv Gandhi of the BC Greens (not his first bizarre attack on the small party). Now he blames widespread comparisons to Selina Robinson's case on..BC Greens. #bcpoli

@CTVVancouver Oh come on. Regardless of how anyone feels about Butts right now, that was an invasive, cheap paparazzi level stunt. How about doing actual journalism.

We can pretend everything is fine and it's okay to catch Covid 10x but it's a bit like denying climate change. Doesn't have a lot to do with the developing scientific consensus.

BC media letting the far-right call the NDP "radical" (ha!) unchallenged puts the lie to its claims of "balance." That's how media helps move the Overton window right. This will be an ongoing 🧵chronicling every time a #bcmedia journalist does this up until the election. #bcpoli

If I were a betting person I'd put money on AJ Leonardi @fitterhappierAJ who has maintained since 2020 that a lot of the immune damage from Covid will be permanent (the study above is h/t AJ)

Omicron has now hit my developmentally disabled sister's LTC. She is 7 months post 2nd shot, even tho the community living association pushed BC public health to speed it up. Booster isn't for another week. So furious. #bcpoli

From a nurse who has been vaccinating people in BC lately, on slowdowns in the booster rollout: "They're laying off all the team leads in vaccination here on January 3 and rehiring people in part time positions to start January 4. No joke." #covid19BC #bcpoli

Paxlovid, which is for mild to moderate Covid, increases your chances of not getting Long Covid. A friend visiting Quebec (doesn't have Quebec MSP) asked pharmacist for Paxlovid; pharmacist sold it to them for $79. FAR EASIER THAN BC. What is your game, @adriandix ? #bcpoli

The BC Govt likes to blame the populace rather than its own #COVID19BC policy, but if it's going to blame the public, & it's admitting $$$$ Whistler has been a key driver of spread, why is it young people's behaviour at fault in BC, not rich people's? Who's travelling? #bcpoli

Can anyone explain why the new BC museum will take almost as long as #SiteC to build, will cost 3/4 of a billion dollars when the new Alberta provincial museum in Edmonton is larger and costs only $325M? Won't be ready until 2030? What? What is even going on in BC? #bcpoli

Rob Shaw & Katie De Rosa are close friends of Selina Robinson & should not be reporting on her. Why do you not have anti-fraternizing policy, @CHEK_News @vancouverSun ? Once upon a time reporters wouldn't be caught dead chumming up with politicians like this. #bcpoli

@vyassaran These are not objective journalists and should not be reporting on this. The absurdity of the media saga around this is so absurd and riddled with conflicts.

Why are so many people in BC, especially those born here, inherently disinclined to question what the BC govt is selling? It's true no matter which party's in charge. We lack a culture of healthy skepticism here. Why? It's not 100% down to BC's particularly monopolized media..

The EU passed the updated 2023-2024 Novavax vaccine on October 31. What is Canada doing, @GovCanHealth ? Novavax has fewer side effects and may be more appropriate for people with various conditions. Canadians should have the choice of a protein-based vaccine. #cdnpoli
