Men all over the world drink alcohol but they don't go out and kill women on the levels we do in SA. The issue isn't booze, this thing in SA runs much deeper and needs serious focus and strategy. The level of violence and hatred for women is beyond just alcohol consumption.

Don't boil Beetroot. Rather roast it (don't peel it, the skin is good for you, just scrub it clean) instead of letting it sit in an ocean of vinegar just drizzle it with balsamic, add some feta and toss in some toasted pumpkin seeds and basil leaves. It won't run on your plate🤘🏾

Looks good. Tip: to stop meat juices running like this, sear it on the stove on the highest heat possible to seal it. Then let it rest at room temp for minimum 15mins. Then into the oven at 220°C with a little butter on top to finish off cooking to your desired done-ness.

I know I sound like a stuck record sometimes but do yourself a favour. Organise 4 or more friends and do a trip every few weeks to the Joburg Market in City Deep. You'll pay easily about 25% of what you pay for fruit and veg at retailers. Buy directly from farmers and suppliers

Yassss. When braaiing lamb, don't season it. Put it straight on a hot fire. No marinate either. Brown it, this seals the moisture in. Remove. Now marinate & season it for 30mins. Once the fire is a little cooler, return the lamb to the braai to finish braaiing it.

Sugar-free pancakes Flour – 2 cups Eggs – 2 Baking Powder – 2 teaspoons Milk – 2 ½ cups Oil – ½ cup Salt – ½ teaspoon Vinegar – 1tsp Beat the eggs and milk together. Mix into the dry ingredients and whisk until lump free. The batter can last 3 days in the fridge.

Low-fat milk only has 2% less fat than full cream milk. Unless you're downing litres of milk like a baby cow, you really aren't gaining much by going with low-fat. Just losing flavour. #LesFoodFacts

Most SA baking literature tends to come from the UK...which is mostly at sea level. Gauteng is really very high up (1,7km above sea level) so our air pressure is different up here. Increase the oven temp by 10°C Increase liquids by 10%. Reduce baking powder by 5% Reduce sugar. 😉
