The scarce resource in RWAs is underwriting chops, i.e off-chain excellence. Lot of folks gonna get burned, too big for their britches. "Inside-Out", or specialist originators w/ track records of originating/underwriting/servicing (work-outs) spinning up protocols will be huge.

As usual, we have overestimated programmable money in the short-run, but we'll underestimate it in the long-run. Self-executing cash flow waterfalls (securitizations), conditional cash traps for debt, dynamically secured bonds, oracle-driven P2P markets, etc.

The meta right now is productive yield, I.e. RWAs. But just wait until we start lending against digital activities, like user generated content (e.g. Roblox businesses) and music production. And these assets can be more easily secured via smart contracts.

One of the saddest arcs for me is that of @nntaleb . Used to be a hero of mine and deeply affected how I still think about the world. Now it's all ad hominem, hostility to ideas that lie outside his biases, and an unwillingness to update his world view when facts change.

Despite Oil’s discovery in 1859, it only overtook coal in 1964. Despite the internet’s inception in 1983, radio advertising dominated until 2008. Despite crypto’s first block in 2009, it will take decades for the world’s assets to live on-chain. But they will.

People dislike RWAs because they're trusted. But just because they aren't "trustless" right out of the gate doesn't mean we shouldn't bother. Building better systems takes time. Nobody has a more potent ability to affect change in RWA ledgering than @MakerDAO .

TLDR how to think about this; Q: Why did Maker go with USDC? A: Crypto-collateral doesn't scale, leading to price above $1 or no supply growth. Q: How does Maker reduce reliance on USDC? Bad A: Yolo into ETH. Good A: Diversify collateral with RWA, crypto, & structured products.

Onboarding "RWAs" like bonds/RE = using internet to build radio and magazine applications. ESPN on-line wasn't and IG bonds on-chain won't be the 100x, but YouTube/FB were. Crypto will reduce uncertainty about systems, allowing them to be financialized at scale. 1000x

The Cosmos ecosystem built for the world that we inhabit today in 2017: interoperability and app-specific chains. If the ecosystem does not take-off, it'll be because of a lack of coherent religion and poor brand/aesthetics.

What are some examples? Birth: DAO Bonds, decentralized parametric insurance contracts, and commodities perps. 🌽👨‍🌾 ( @Bond_Protocol , @etherisc , @landx , ) Rebirth: Established assets like sovereign debt, mortgages, and corporate loans will slowly be re-ledgered on-chain. 🏡⛓️

HVB's first assets have been funded. @coinbase proposal to invest 1.6B PSM USDC in Coinbase rewards program. @Anchorage requesting a senior secured facility to finance BTC mining loans. It's not always pretty but such is the helical nature of innovation. @MakerDAO

@TrueFiDAO will finance off-chain collateral, e.g. launch crypto-mortgages with @useteller providing creditworthiness metrics. Most crypto-users are young and thus have limited off-chain credit histories. On-chain credit unlocks more dynamic pricing.

First gamers paid, then they didn't (F2P), and now they're being paid (P2E). As attention becomes the scarcest resource, the capital reasonably deployed to secure it grows. Crypto will enable games to blitzscale at a speed and magnitude never before witnessed.

@PorterFinance Porter is bootstrapping the corporate bond market for DAOs. Rather than issue expensive tokens, DAOs can borrow fixed against native tokens (overcollateralized). Payments, covenants, and security interests are mediated by smart contracts rather than by legal ones.

Digital Twins—all physical assets will maintain digital representation and ownership, easier to track and trade. Missing is just the legal recognition/connection between token and hard asset. Already seeing this in Switzerland (DLT) and more recently in South America.
