Just watched the replay of the 23-22 game vs the Cubs on MLB network. Brought back a lot of great memories. We had a helluva team back then. There’s another replay on at 7p tonight if you’re looking for something to watch. Stay safe,and let’s flatten the curve.
Been in baseball for over 50 years and I’ve seen a lot of great shortstops. I can’t believe that Jimmy Rollins only received 14% of the vote on his 2nd HOF ballot. His body of work speaks for itself. Jimmy is a HOF shortstop.
Today is a great day, opening day is always special. The goal is to win the NL east and it starts today. We need to play every game with a sense of urgency and we will win this division. Let’s do this! Go Phils!
Great win today for Phillies. Good things happen when you put the ball in play. Highest exit velocity in the 9th inning was 88 mph. Case closed. Six runs later, the W.
My heart is heavy today. We lost Denny Doyle, one of my favorite DP partners. We were together in the minors and the big leagues. The impact he had on my career, and my life, can't be put into words. My condolences to Martha and the entire Doyle family. RIP my friend.
My heart is heavy tonight after hearing of the passing of one of the greatest pitchers in baseball history, Tom Seaver. My condolences go out to Nancy and the Seaver family. He was one of the toughest pitchers I faced in my career and off the field he was a great person. RIP.
This is one of my toughest days yet. We lost another Phillies family member, Billy DeMars. Besides my dad, he was the most influential coach in my baseball career. Without Billy’s help, I don’t think I would have made it to the big leagues. Rest easy my friend.
I’m heartbroken today. We lost one of the greats, in baseball and broadcasting. Tim McCarver was a tremendous mentor for me very early in my career but more importantly he was my friend. RIP Timmy. I’ll miss you.
Congratulations to the 2022 NLCS Champions
@Phillies
! Great job by Rob Thomson and the entire coaching staff. I want them all to experience what it’s like to be the last team standing. Let’s do this!
Another heartbreaking loss for our Phillies family. Dick Allen was a Hall of Fame player, no question. He was a great mentor to our entire team back in the 70s and taught us all how to play the game the right way. Baseball lost a legend today. RIP my friend.
My heart is heavy. We lost another member of the Phillies Phamily. Tony Taylor was one of the most respected and well liked players to wear a Phillies uniform. He had an incredible impact on my career. Rest in peace TT.

trainers, team docs and clubbies. COVID protocols are being strictly enforced for the safety of everyone. They are doing a great job during these tough times.
On this 100 year anniversary of the Negro Leagues, I want to give a special shoutout to Roy Campanella, born and raised in Philly, one of the greatest catchers of all time. Roy was a HOF catcher, 3X MVP and 8X All Star.
Woke up today and learned my good friend, Ed Farmer, the radio voice of WhiteSox, has passed away. Ed was a great teammate and one of the nicest guys I’ve had the privilege to know. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
Congratulations to Scott Rolen on his induction into the class of 2023
@MLB
HOF. It was an honor to manage him with the Phillies. One of the best of his generation to play the game. Well deserved!
Finally got to meet one of the greatest athletes of all time last night. For the first time ever I was at a loss for words when
@BoJackson
introduced himself and said he followed my career. Wow, just wow.
RIP Al Kaline, the greatest player in Detroit Tiger history. It was one of the highlights of my career when I met him at spring training years ago. He was truly the most dignified and humble man I have ever met. Baseball lost one of the greatest of all time.
Watching
@Jim_Gardner
on

for the last time. It won't be the same watching the news without him. Congratulations on your retirement Jim. Hope to see you at the ballpark!
As we reflect on the tragic events of 9/11, we will never forget the sacrifice of so many lives lost and we honor the first responders who worked tirelessly in the aftermath. We will always remember.
Big congratulations to Cesar Hernandaz - 2020 Gold Glove winner! All those ground balls we took on the half field at 8am paid off. Well done amigo! Couldn’t be more proud of you!
Another heartbreaking for loss for the MLB family.. Joe Morgan was one of the all time greats. He was only 5’8”
but played like he was 6’5”. Honored to call him my friend. RIP Joe.
Congratulations to Kim Ng, the new GM of the
@Marlins
, one of the smartest baseball minds I've worked with. She will be a tremendous asset to their organization. Well done

So sorry to hear about Eric Cooper, one of the best umpires in MLB. Not only was he an outstanding umpire, but he was an even better person. My sincere condolences to his family. RIP my friend.
What a great night supporting the Covenant House! We are so proud to announce over $522,000 has been raised so far and we’re still counting. Thank you to all who donated! Your support really does make a difference!
I hope all dads had a great day today. My father meant the world to me and I miss him so much. He was my mentor and taught me how to play the game of baseball the right way.

So sad to hear of the passing of Bill Lyons. He was one of the most respected and well liked members of the Philadelphia sports media community. Sending my sincere condolences to his family. RIP my friend.

It must be nice to be lucky and get over 4000 hits. Pete rose could have played in any era and would have done great no matter when he played.
On this date in 1980, we won our first World Series title.
That got us thinking ... had Twitter been around then, what would you have tweeted after the final out? 🤔

That’s called winning baseball strategy,try to get tying run to the plate.if your not taught that in the minor leagues then you don’t know. We need to teach minor leaguers how to play winning baseball.Then when they get to the big leagues they know.
