I'll say this. Russell Ott's win probably ensures Democrats keep that State Senate seat. Had Harpootlian somehow inched ahead and won tonight, he'd have been incredibly weak going into the general in this competitive district. Russell is a natural fit for the district.

Its a real uphill climb for sure. But the media reported this race over 36 hours ago and wrote their wrap-up stories. It's not over and is one of the tightest Congressional races in the nation.

Election update: Filing for State Senate District 20 closed today at noon. I am the only Democratic candidate, no Republican candidates filed and there is a 3rd party candidate. This is welcome news for the campaign, and I am super grateful to all the folks who helped this

I see some of the Republican house members are refusing to wear a mask on the floor of the SC House. Columbia has a mask law. Why aren't they being ticketed or even removed?

It is imperative that @henrymcmaster , SLED and all SC law enforcement agencies, including the National Guard do everything possible to keep our State House safe as the legislature returns for session tomorrow. Nothing wrong with overacting at this point.

Congratulations to William Tinkler for being elected to Charleston City Council tonight! Tinkler absolutely trounced an actual supporter of Mom's for Liberty. Tinkler didn't need to make up a fake PAC to get it done.

The early vote total in SC now stands at 903,669. We should cross a million by Wednesday. (The previous record was 503,000). Nonwhite voters continue to over-perform, making up 33% of all total voters.
