Not liking a song is OK. But wishing harm had happened during the performances of artists is not. One’s father was ill at the time she performed her song in Rotterdam. The other’s song deals with her own backstory... It's not a joke anymore. It's just mean and gratuituous.

@Cortheman Why would they withdraw though? Rules are rules; and if their song doesn't respect them, they have to face the consequences; any rational HoD would understand that, and I see no one withdrawing if Israel is disqualified.

I had a dream about Eurovision last night. Maneskin came top 5, Victoria top 3, and Barbara won. Jendrik came top 10 by surprise-winning the televote. The Roop and Dadi completed their top 3. San Marino NQed. Go_A made it to the grand final, but Montaigne sadly didn't.

@JamesArchieJO Their votes were so predictable, I could guess them in advance, and that's worrying, to say the least! The jury votes didn't feel musical, and I fear they prove the locals right when they say it's all political. Juries are important, but the system has to change.

I think the contest without fun songs would be boring as hell and would loose its musical diversity. I think you just need a good balance of fun and emotional songs, or else you would get tired of hearing the same typeof songs over and over again and people would lose interest.

You know what would be amazing actually? A girlbop à la "Fuego" / "SloMo" / Unicorn" in which the singer would sing about anxiety, self-esteem issues, social awkwardness or emotional struggles like in "GUIGO" or "De Diepte". I would genuinely love that combo tbh.

@discoxcx Agreed on "Unicorn". "Tatoo" gets actually better when put out of the Eurovision context. In the competition it was a painfully unoriginal song compared to other contestants, but on casual listens it's actually cool. As for "Cha cha cha"... Still a banger!

What really is problematic is the content. At no point will he talk about any performance. He just shows the laughing audience the high notes (he calls them screams). He just broadcasts micro-seconds, out of context, without highlighting kids. Just giving material to mock them.

Sequences like this participate to the bad reputation of ESC and JESC in France. But worst of all, it encourages bullying by showing millions of people that performers (and especially kids) can be made fun of (and possibly bullied). That sequence is shameful! Just shameful!

1. In terms of song progression, melodic structure and overall construction, "Fulenn" is way better than "Terra" and will get a higher score in the final than the Tanxugueiras could have had.

@markotweetsesc Personally it's in my top 5. It's genuinely something I could listen to out of the ESC context. But most of all, I'm so, so happy Ireland are finally taking a risk, and showing off their alternative scene, which is very rich. So I'm proud of them for that.

@sims4ideas Especially for the Sims 4 but can apply to all... People don't use their imagination too much and want everything integrated in the game, which removes all creativity. In a dollhouse you don't have everything, so you play-pretend. Sometimes it should be the same with Sims.
