because they're EXPOSED to each other for a LONG time (laugh track) also: - jonas's lights are inspired by long exposure photography! - those "long exposure to chemicals could result in blah blah" health warnings, since that's how they get their powers. seemed fitting

besides telekinesis being the coolest power ever, i will never stop trying to get everyone to watch chronicle (2012). jonas's power was decided because he's so guarded emotionally that having his feelings bright and visible was interesting to explore for me

before it had any sort of plot, i was just fleshing out mitch and jonas's backstories, families, histories, relationships, etc. focused entirely on the characters first, then worked out a plot that would fit around them when i decided i wanted them to have superpowers!

he is accepting, but i also think the only reason he was critical before was that it wasn't really his opinion as much as it was just a projection of his family's (etc) opinions. all i mean by that is, it wasn't hard for him to go "oh ok that's fine then" in the end lol

definitely. mitch is the way he is largely because of his troubling home life. grew up without a dad, abusive step-dad, mother on drugs, older brother died. he'd be very different if his life were easier

the characters came first, i was not originally going to make a comic for them. i fleshed them out as much as i could and their story came very naturally. i think i only had them for a few months before deciding to subject them to the webcomic treatment
