John Houlding was removed from his position as a president of Everton Football Club on 15 March 1892. He was left with a football ground, but no football team to play in it.
It led to a birth of the team that we all know so well... Happy birthday Liverpool FC!
In 1989, days after the tragedy at Hillsborough, the semi-final of the European Cup between AC Milan and Real Madrid came to a halt, and Milan’s fans sang You’ll Never Walk Alone in solidarity with fellow football fans.
This amazing playmaker was signed on 23 August 1984, joining Liverpool FC from Ajax in a £200,000 deal. Jan Molby knew how to orchestrate the game, always finding the right solution and directing his passes so well.
12 June 1987: John Barnes arrives! Liverpool paid £900,000 to sign him from Watford. Prime Barnes was arguably the best player in the league, totally unplayable at times, and would easily walk into any team in the world!
