It’s the oddest thing that the people who drive these vehicles in cities are almost always concealed behind tinted glass and become extremely agitated and upset if you attempt to look at them. They are terrified. They are HIDING.

At yesterday's celebration of $4 million for safer transportation infrastructure in Griffith Park, @cd4losangeles and @laurafriedman43 spoke eloquently about the urgent need to reduce car violence and increase car-free space in this amazing urban treasure of ours. Progress!

Los Angeles folks! You know that ballot you got in the mail? Please don't let it go to waste! We need your YES on HLA vote in this low-turnout election to make our streets safer for EVERYONE...drivers, pedestrians, transit riders, and bicyclists. Mail your YES on HLA vote today.

Los Angeles can be the greatest bike city in the world. All it takes is our political will.

Is it better to live in a place with great weather or great bike infrastructure? LA has the potential to be the best biking city in the world, and 50% of trips are less than 3 miles. I think we could get up to 20-30% of trips by bike, if we just built the needed infrastructure.

Car brain is a serious mental illness. Treating it involves separating yourself from your car as much and as often as possible. The results come fast and will amaze you

I just honked at a guy for a good 15 seconds. He just kept riding in the middle of my lane. I can’t even say what I was thinking about doing. I don’t feel sorry for Portland cyclists that get killed. These fuckers gotta learn the hard way I guess.

Are you listening, @MitchOFarrell ? LA is ready to re-balance its priorities toward people and away from speeding cars. It’s time for our elected leaders to catch up or be left behind

Excellent thread asking why Los Angeles refuses to use effective materials to protect bicyclists and pedestrians from cars. Bollards are beautiful because they save lives!

So my question about why we can't use concrete or steel bollards in LA got two answers, which sort of conflict. Maybe @LADOTofficial or @CD5LosAngeles can help resolve my confusion.

How about doing a progress report like this for bike lane improvements, which were a prominent part of your pitch to voters?

We’ve been working hard all year with @BSSLosAngeles to make sure our streets and sidewalks are safe and accessible for everyone! We know there’s still a lot of work to do, but we’re grateful to the dedicated city employees who work everyday to improve LA.

. @LADOTofficial is still soliciting feedback for our proposed safety improvements to Hollywood Blvd. We know that cars now kill more people in LA than murders, and we need to take urgent action. Fill out this survey about the project at
