The stark reality is that 36 law enforcement personnel have been killed #inthelineofduty in 2018 🚔Sadly,by next week,that number will probably have increased 📈 @RunToRememberLA allowed us to come together as a community to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice 💯🙏🏼

Very rarely does raw talent and hard work intersect as naturally as they did for @kobebryant . He was intertwined into the fabric of our city for two decades and will always be remembered as one of the greatest sports figures ever. Gone too soon! Condolences to all. We all hurt.

Certain incidents are cemented into my memory and my heart. The loss of #LAPD Officer Nick Lee was 5 years ago today but in some ways it seems like just yesterday. But a legacy like Nick’s will always endure the test of time. I’m thinking of his wife and daughters today!

On September 23, Sergeant Prentice was working Southwest Patrol when she was struck by a car & severely injured as officers tried to stop a stolen vehicle. Today, her LAPD family was present as she left the hospital. Welcome home Sgt. Prentice. Wish you a full & speedy recovery.

There was a time not long ago where a woman could not rise above the rank of Sergeant in #LAPD . In 1981 there were 175 female police personnel. In 2020 there are nearly 2000 female personnel including a female Assistant Chief. Still work to be done! #WomensHistoryMonth #LAWPOA
