My dad always spoke of him in awe, as a Reds pitcher on the BRM, but also as an elite high school athlete playing everything in Greenup Co. Gullett was one of my Reds pitcher heroes, even though I was too young to remember seeing him pitch in person. My heart hurts over this.❤️‍🩹

I just told a 7 yr old Cubs/Astros fan on a 30 stadium tour of the MLB sitting in front of me to watch that at bat because Joseph Daniel Votto was one of the greatest of his time. I’m not sorry.

I’ve watched the Reds run dudes out every season of my life who couldn’t hit more than .200 with an ironing board. No roster in baseball has 9 guys hitting .300+. If they can’t figure out a way to bring Votto back for less than that option, they really will will hurt my soul.
