Sharing this again since he’s been talked about today by a few fans in a semi negative light. He suffered with anorexia and depression while filming Doctor Who. He had to work with Noel Clarke & John Barrowman. We don’t know what the production was like, cut him some slack..?

I don’t think people realise how important Pertwee’s era is to Doctor Who. His era created The Master, The Sea Devils, The Silurians, The Sontarans, The Autons, Omega, Sarah Jane Smith, it was the first era in colour, the first era to properly explore UNIT, etc. monumental!

So for the first time in a few years I just rewatched the first episode of ‘Class’ which is a Doctor Who spin off series that was axed because no one watched it. The characters are forgettable, villain is cliché, tonally inconsistent. Now I remember why I disliked this series.

Regeneration felt like a big special thing in RTDs era, but in Moffat’s era and arguably Chibnall’s. It’s just a common thing. The kid in the alley regenerates, river regenerates, 12 regenerates twice, 11 has a fake regeneration, Cybermen regenerate, master regenerates etc

@WildBlueJacob Could be that it is lacking the nostalgia aspect his previous era had, or it’s just off for a different reason. I think the fact that Ncuti didn’t get to have his “I know who I am now, I’m the doctor” scene is part of it, or a scene where Ruby is amazed at the Tardis.
