@CyclingForMind
Share the road... he seems to have stayed behind, matching your speed, until the cycle lane gave him a chance to pass...
Would it have seriously discommoded your journey if you'd moved over and signalled him to pass??
@Brendan96115551
@deshocks
Helps us cope with modern life to know that there are still some, and I suspect a lot, of good people willing to reach out a helping hand.. Hope the exams went OK too
@eirtec
@dlLambo
She did try to explain to the clamper that she was in the loading bay in front of her own shop because she was .. unloading..
Very heavy handed. Any reasonable guy would have understood the situation..... I'm presuming she wasn't parked there for all that long...?
@davidmurphyRTE
@rtenews
When SF does it, it's an omission!! When anyone else does it, it's an everlasting stain on the moral fibre of the body politic!
So, the 1,000, the 7,000, and now this?? Sins of omission???
@griptmedia
What about the 24,000 in pledged accommodation? Seeing as the state contributes up to 800e per month, are they deemed to be in state funded accommodation, or have they sourced their own and will continue to get full benefits?
@wereontheditch
There isn't enough noughts on my calculator to show how infinitesimally small this sum is against the value of FDI to Irelands economy. Hats off to the IDA who are out there amongst the big guys, competing with the very best the world has to offer.
@NewstalkFM
A certificate of roadworthiness from a registered main dealer showing service history should be enough. This would take pressure off the NCT centres.
@greenparty_ie
Not a great idea.. If you employ someone to go looking for trouble, then it becomes their job to find it
Are we not already involved with various measures dealing with integration, social inclusion/cohesion?
You are making this issue front and centre, a target for every crank
@Independent_ie
Back when I was going to secondary school, and it's quite a good bit back when, ... nobody ever told me I was learning Irish to speak it?
Never taught to me as a language, just an exam subject, nearly the same as the Latin subject!
@killianwoods
@ClareOC_
The French have a cure for that... they impose an increasingly penal tax on habitable homes left vacant for more than a set period.. the owners are effectively taxed on whatever rent they should be earning...
@MaryLouMcDonald
What a ridiculous statement. Very little real work gets done slagging each other off across the Dail chamber... you've milked this for all its worth.
Undermine his housing strategy by publishing your own, give the voters an insight into what exactly you have in mind???
@OCallaghanCian
They will go to workers who need places to rent. If the Govt, or the opposition, leave renters almost entirely out of their policy calculations, then it seems fair for the employers to help out??
What will SocDem do for people looking for a home to rent???
@rtenews
GRIPT are on the case. We don't need to know the facts, but we will be able to tell the nationality by whether their editor runs the story or not...
@EnochBurke
Family won't be having Enoch home for Christmas. But maybe if they carry on behaving like louts, there's a chance they could join him in the clink..
@DrUmarAlQadri
It's all so simple. These sort of half-baked remarks give the impression that Ireland is a complete basketcase, totally out of step with every other country. This is just nonsense, designed to get you elected. We are not out of step. Even with open borders.
@unadunphy
@welfare_ie
@ICCLtweet
@wereontheditch
Didn't one always have to have a card to collect SW payments??
Issues arose when they tried to make it a mandatory gateway to all other social services,
Personally, I think it's a good idea, saves having to go thru the ID process every time..
Like the EU health card...
@irishexaminer
Is there no bandwagon they won't jump on... to Labour, any headline they can weave into their story is like a floating plank to hang onto after a shipwreck
@SenatorKeogan
I would need to see the full background story on that particular case. There are no schemes or supports that I've ever heard of that would accommodate that scenario...
@fatima_gunning
They are just workers trying to make a living. As soon as they've done their job there, they'll be gone. They are nobody's enemy.
They have a right to try hide their identities in light of the sort of mindless abuse, or worse, they might encounter later
@Nic21121970
Yes, he was ordered to stop harassing those who work in or attend the school... they don't agree with or accept his personal views and they should not be subjected to constant bother.
@paulmurphy_TD
@EvelynSpring8
Semantics... that's to the quality of free legal aid, they found you not guilty of a criminal act,
but there are pictures of you sitting there preventing two women from leaving or moving their car.. another word for that might be "detained"
@PearseDoherty
SF were in favour of it until they got handed their assss for going all out for the yes referendum. then switched sides. But hadn't the courage to go the whole hog and campaign against it... you came up with the notion that we could pick and mix. That was never going to work..
@CyclingForMind
No I didn't, I. Didn't see him come anywhere nearer to you than he had to..
Is every truck driver, or any driver, a personal challenge for you??
@BirdyBooky
As a male carer, with the same duties and difficulties as that caring lady, I feel entitled to be recognised as a carer too .. not be excluded simply because I'm not a woman...
@KarlMartinIrl
@VirginMediaNews
@maynoothsu
@Intel_IRL
If INTEL decide they are no longer welcome, they might up stakes and go... and they might not go alone... big tech tends to huddle, what's best for one is usually best for all.
There would be no shortage of other countries delighted to offer them a EU base...
@SocDems
@HollyCairnsTD
If SocDem can discard a heretofore valued candidate because of their discomfiture with her religion or heritage, then I suppose it's a logical next step to break off all diplomatic relationships with both Israel and their main supporters
Maybe US Ambassador next?
@philipnolan1
@Bob_Beaman
No, I agree with him.. I see no reason why I would be considered a threat to any other person, and I don't see why I have to walk wide circles around people just to prove that...
I'm an aging man... I'm wary of where and when I'd walk late, much more so than when younger
@NewstalkFM
What does the Councillor suggest? Presumably, other residents are required to pay annual management fees for the upkeep of shared areas, services like lifts, some facilities and amenities... does or should the CC pay those fees?
@JohnOBrennan2
The funding goes mainly on supporting local race tracks, stables and those who work there, through putting up enough prize money to cover thr cost of getting the horses there to race
Move up the scale, prize money is invariably sponsored and not state supported.
@RoryHearneGaffs
This one had nothing to do with the eviction ban... it's illegal, if it happened as outlined, regardless of whether there was a ban or not.
@MaryLouMcDonald
A rather disturbing decision to link this photo to what happened there last week? What message are you trying to send out, and to whom? Immigrants already wary, walking in fear, do you want to add others to the list?
@MikeMcKillen
@DonnybrookFair
@TheHSA
What a pointless and self centred post! Is nobody who lives on a street entitled to clear out a house or hire a skip...??
There must be by-laws covering that .
Be careful, check behind you before you veer out.. get down and walk around if you think it safer...
@PaulTreyvaud
The lockdown measures were introduced before the vaccines had been developed and tested, and restrictions were lifted as soon as people grew confident of their efficacy.
@NewstalkFM
Young people leave Ireland mostly on working holiday visas, and 99% of them return when their visa expires
The actual rate of emigration to settle abroad is historically low..
@JohnMurphy51
They wouldn't have to do a thing. The entire FDI companies would up sticks and head off to mainland Europe, taking a quarter of a million direct jobs and twice that caught up in the wake! Not to mention the lions share of the 22 billion corporate taxes we've grown to depend on
@rtenews
@EileenMagnier
Are the Irish flocking to Australia?
21,000 last year!
23,000 in the 2010/11 tranche.
These are working holiday visas.. the vast majority return home,
It is notable that the number of Irish nationals leaving each year is matched by a similar number returning
@sinnfeinireland

Dublin, Guildford, Omagh, Monaghan, La Mon... Warrington, ... shall I go on??
Heartless psychopathic b*starts blowing up innocents to make some "political" statement
@CogitoScio
@sinead_ryan
@Independent_ie
There seems to be an emerging narrative that Ireland is purposefully importing foreigners to swell our population numbers? Plantation, historically, a strategy to install enough of a particular persuasion so they could monopolise local politics, local rule!
??
@newschambers
@VirginMediaNews
Love the rural urban divide.. 90% of us living outside the cities have no direct contact with farming..our views on emissions wouldn't differ much from inner city dwellers.. Appreciate the economic value of agriculture n agri industry but rural TD's need to do a head count....
@paddycosgrave
I've been reading your tweets for quite a while now! I've never seen any of the public figures you regularly smear actually respond to you in any way! I'd say they rarely give you any thought whatsoever!
It's also seldom any party u support speaks out in ur favour
@SaraHaboubi1
Over 90% of them are public service providers. NGO might not be the best description, non profit might describe them better. They include universities, hospitals, sporting organisations, local community groups etc
Only a few hundred have active lobbying or advocacy functions
@JohnMurphy51
Tell them that any future payments to them will only be paid at the approved accommodation centres
And that , if arrested, their application will be terminated on the grounds of having committed an offence in law ..
@IrishTimes
Why would anyone forego an annual pension totalling over 50,000e over 4 years just to get an extra 50e a week or so for the rest of their lives, they'd have to live well into their 90's just to break even??
@paddycosgrave
Define independent journalism?
When a millionaire full of bile and bias buys a couple of journalists?
Is that how you see the independent media heading?
@Millar_Colin
Tourist apartments prohibited?? In a country that thrives on tourism??
Or do they mean Portuguese citizens private holiday homes?
So, someone working in Lisbon or Porto will no longer be able to have a holiday pad in Estoril or the Algarve?? Rubbish!
@paulmurphy_TD
The wife is looking forward to settling in before the telly... nobody does pageantry, pomp and ceremony better than yon sassanachs.. spectacle value, I don't expect she will mouth the oath of allegiance when it pops up...
@OConnorOisin
Maybe it's time for motorists to form a representative body to protect our interests! Combine our voting power and let politicians know we still exist, still have to drive and can't be fleeced just to pander to the ideological zeal of the GP!
@cllrjohansson
What did the Swedish ambassador think of you spurning their choice as head of state in what is a perfectly well functioning democracy?? Or did they even notice?
@RoryHearneGaffs
Good luck with trying to find another place to rent in the future... a good recommendation from a previous landlord is worth a lot if you're standing halfway up a queue.
@RoryHearneGaffs
There is little evidence that the feral youth brigade with state of the art clothing, electric scooters, phones, are in any way deprived or socially excluded.
@NewstalkFM
Have another look at the poll results... Absolutely no way it found 79% in favour of a return to mandatory mask wearing in all circumstances as before..
Prestidigitation in the presentation.. Ask your number crunchers to recheck..
@sendboyle
Yes, when the free retrofitting and the unaffordable retrofitting is completed, then we won't have need of coal or turf.. any idea when???
Sad to say, keeping warm to stay alive is a more pressing issue for most than the harm one might do through smoke.
@tracyohanlon74
You can't just pick a particular demographic slice and apply the outcome to the population as a whole. About 14% of the population are non nationals, mostly UK/ EU, Polish, UKR .. The majority who come here as visa holders are in the younger age bracket, eg workers, students
@DrUmarAlQadri
Wasn't there a couple of "good samaritan" witnesses who helped him afterwards...
Presumably there are medical reports to validate that it was an offence against the person?
@TadghMurphy10
Vast majority of Irish heading to Aus are on time-limited work study visas, and will return soon enough. The numbers actually emigrating to set up home there are few enough, and many are availing of the essential skills visa
@MickBarryTD
It's noted that the Minister for Foreign Affairs was not there to vote. He was over in the middle east working with his officials in Israel and other neighbouring countries to get people out to safety. I understand the Israeli Ambassador to Ireland may have helped considerably
@wereontheditch
In order to attract and retain FDI at the top end (as in the type that pay over 10 billion a year in corporate taxes and support a couple of hundred jobs here) they have to get out among them on their own turf.
Cold calling from afar wouldn't get the job done.
@MaryLouMcDonald
What provision has SF made to increase the availability of places to rent? What will you do if in office this time next year?
I'm not talking about rent controls. The biggest problem people face is that they are but one in a queue for every place advertised
Renters, forgotten
@CaseyPeterJ
Geneva Convention... was set up after WW2 so that people ending up in camps would be allowed to speak up... it was an improvement on what happened over the previous decade..
@RBoydBarrett
Very coherent and focused questioning... if more of the committee were as equally direct, in their approach, we would have learned a lot more
Well done
@ray_cun
Maybe the threshold could be raised to reflect current house prices. Should a son or daughter have to pay, say, 50k or more, to move back into what had been their childhood home?
@rtenews
Israel is never going to listen to people who shout at them while marching behind Palestine flags
Maybe a worldwide march for peace and equality of the rights to life and freedom would carry more weight..
@TinaMax8
The cracks are starting to appear... fissures next... autumn GE
Maybe best plan for both FG and FF would b.. accept that neither should be part of the next Govt.
Set the bar very high by seeping out what 2025 budget will look like...
Then slip gracefully into opposition
@rtenews
The taoiseach has nothing to apologise for and should refuse to allow our Ambassador in Tel Aviv to be chastised. Let Israel take it from there, but they should be mindful of how staunchly the Irl Gov stood against calls for the expulsion of the Israeli Ambassador here..
@voteforsimeon
Not being blocked... just nobody yet has been willing to take a chance on him... he would need to pledge to be open-minded and apply his legal skills to all and sundry, regardless of his personal beliefs...
@saoirse_mchugh
It's a sad reflection on the communication abilities of the green movement if it has to fall back on vandalism to keep the discussion alive
@sinnfeinireland
@EOBroin
How? Its like the old "I can make you a star" come-on line
How will SF deliver affordable homes? Will u just tweak and continue the current equity share scheme? Or have you some new innovative ideas simmering away?
Can you share?
Share or shut up .. my new catchphrase...

Aren't immigrants not yet fully processed issued with a card, which they are required to present on request to a garda or other authorised person?

She can't get any Bill through without majority support in both Houses of the Oireachtas... if these FG voices are against it, they can vote against it ..
@davidmcw
With a purchase price tag of 13.5 million, before architects/designers move in to determine how many liveable units might be possible, these could turn out to be rather expensive social units.
@behanj82
@masi_asylum
People get tags at some high faulting conferences, it's an easy way to get through the day without having to display full details to all n sundry, do they not issue wristbands at concerts, hospitals etc.. Seems a good easy way to manage things..
