Seeing lots of praise for Uni of Liverpool cancelling teaching. Ok but it was a hard job getting them there. And cancelling teaching is measure to protect students. All other*thousands* of nonteaching staff are expected to go in. It has a long way to go before staff are protected

The only limit to free speech at universities I’ve seen are those imposed by employers who use NDAs to silence disabled staff, trade unionists, staff who’ve experienced sexual harassment and racism, legitimising discrimination by making it invisible to avoid any accountability 🤷‍♀️

The tweets from @LivUni students today are heartbreaking. It shouldn’t be this way. This is the price the uni are happy to pay for 21 jobs. Make no mistake, this isn’t about money, it’s about trying to crush the union. Even if it means destroying degrees & devastating students.

What a tremendous action from @GoldsmithsUCU ❤️ 3 weeks of strike action is really difficult, especially for for low paid and precarious staff and at Christmas too. Show your solidarity by giving some of your pre-Christmas wage to their strike fund

Today at @UCUGlasgow we had a really productive meeting on GTVO and how to preserve our leverage now with marking should we (and we should!) move to a MAB. Our focus has got to be on preserving and building leverage. Happy to share our strategy with other branches.
