My friend escaped her abusive partner yesterday. Thanks to @SBSisters @shaktiedinburgh + @scotwomensaid . I contacted all three of them to help me get her out + they responded quickly, professionally, told me what to ask her + how to keep her safe. They saved her life. 👏🏽👏🏽

You know Labour does have some good news. Last Thursday @AntforLabour won in Earlsdon ward, Coventry, with a 50% turnout + 3rd consecutive win for Labour over the Tories in Earlsdon. I won in 2018, removing their 22 year solid Tory rule in the ward. @becky_gittins won in 2019.🌹

UN rapporteur says the government are pretty unconcerned with state of poverty and destiution amongst our communities. How damning is that? I thought a government worked for its people not against them, subjecting then to hardship and misery.

Last summer I was asked to speak at a Lift the Ban rally on changing policy so refugees can work in the UK whilst waiting their asylum decision. Last week I presented a motion Coventry Council to Lift the Ban. It was passed unanimously. @AsylumMatters

The revelation that it was information passed from Britain to India that led to Johal’s arrest is concerning. Boris Johnson was foreign secretary at the time. The sign-off on the transfer of such information could only have been given by him.

@maryanncv8 of @WomensBudgetGrp + I researched impact of austerity on women 10 yrs ago + found there was disproportionate impact on lone parents, most of whom are women. So, shamefully, this is no surprise. We need the govt to act to save our children.

Both my parents died of cancer - dad 20 yrs ago today mum 11 wks. So it was even more poignant going on @SikhUnion_CovUK Charity Walk in aid of Bowel Cancer. I managed 15 Km mainly thro chatting with lovely fellow walkers + 15 faith places en route. @TaiwoOwatemi @Rupinder2010
