Update: J is out of surgery. The dr was happy the infection did not make it to the inner level of tissue. So they only had to make a 6 inch incision and they do not have to go back in again as long as the antibiotics work. He will be in for a couple more days. TY all for caring❤️

J update: we have had 3 good days in a row. Minimal pain, able to get the antibiotics in him, and he’s pretty happy and not overly demanding. If the antibiotics do their job and keep the infection out then I hope we are on the mend!! Thanks everyone for worrying about my guy 💕💕

The dr just came out and said the surgeries went well. Hip took 20 minutes and back took 4 hours. He thinks they can take the breathing tube out. He didn’t lose as much blood as they thought he would. We are waiting to see him in the ICU. Thanks everyone for your support today!😘

Jeffrey just tested positive for Covid. This is his first time having it and I am worried. He has chronic lung disease due to his prematurity. He is vaxxed and boosted. I’m gonna call the doctor this morning and see if he qualifies for the medicine. 🙏🙏 please.

💔 my mama has a giant blood clot in her lung and it’s partially collapsed. I’m bringing her home tomorrow or the next day on hospice. Just praying now that my mama doesn’t have any pain and is comfortable. I love her so much and my heart is literally breaking right now.......

Jeffrey had his first follow up appointment since he was discharged. They took out the stitches and checked his back for infection. Everything looks good so we are happy! He will get bloodwork (which will not make him happy) and then we will go for lunch (happy again)!

J update: They took him off IV meds today and will support his pain with rectal Tylenol and rectal naproxen (J spits out oral meds). If these work and if he starts drinking we will get out tomorrow or Tuesday. Now let’s see the @steelers get the W! #SteelerNation #HereWeGo 🖤💛

It’s so hard to believe that in 6 days this horribly small sick preemie will turn 16 years old. At 10 days old, the neonatologist wanted me to pull the plug. Can you even imagine? I told them to fly him to Pittsburgh. What a life-changing decision. 💕💕💕
