Jathedar Shingara Singh was born in the year 1900 in a village in the vicinity of Sri Amritsar. On the 13th April of 1919, aged 19, he was present in the Jallianwala Bagh. He survived the mass murder ordered by General Dyer with a bullet that struck his arm.
