Much of the power grid is down in Texas, and media report that Sen. Ted Cruz is in Cancun. Fortunately, Texas state law mandates a course in government as a public high school graduation requirement, so Texans know U.S. senators aren't responsible for the state's power grid.
"I'm not sure I understand the distinction why the states would have the power, but the federal government wouldn't." -- Justice Sonia Sotomayor, 1/7/22, during oral argument re: Pres. Biden's vaccine mandates
@benshapiro
People seek worthless degrees more commonly now because government subsidizes doing so. This is perfectly consistent with the basic economic reality that if you subsidize something, you get more of it.
The subsidy is the problem.

Not only is this a dizzyingly crazy comparison of bands, but no member of the Beach Boys was as good a musician as his Beatles opposite number. Start with the lead guitarists. (Ha!) Drummers. (Ha ha!) Bass players. (Please.) I suppose vocals are a matter of taste, but .../1
So now the people who think Bill Clinton was paid $500K to speak for 30 mins. in foreign countries *because he's so fascinating*, and Clinton Foundation donations cratered after the 2016 election and the employees had to close up shop because..., are accusing Trump of bribery.

The GOP lost the presidency narrowly, lost the House extremely narrowly, and--it appears--will lose the Senate by the casting vote of the incoming vice president. It still controls the federal courts and most state governments. Some "collapse."
This is just dizzyingly ignorant. She actually implies that people ought to think their rights come from Congress, by which logic they could not have preexisted Congress. It's amazing that prominent Americans are so manifestly ignorant of the most basic facts about our regime.
Here
@MSNBC
helpfully makes it clear their disdain for Christians in America.
She says that if you believe that your rights come from God, you aren’t a Christian, you are a Christian nationalist.
Somehow they seem to not mention that our own founding documents make this

In my lifetime, three presidents have had good character: Ford, Carter, and Reagan. I've never heard
@JonahNRO
complain about the others' character. In fact, he's recently celebrated the character of one whose chief vow was a lie. He just dislikes Trump's politics.
Annual reminder: today's federal holiday is Washington's Birthday. If you want a holiday commemorating Carter, Fillmore, the Harrisons, the Bushes, Pierce, the Johnsons, Nixon, Wilson, the Roosevelts, the Adamses, and the rest of them, you need to contact your congressman.
Schumer says Biden will forgive $50K in student debt per borrower by EO. This is a huge wealth transfer from everyone else to those who owe at least $50K on student loans.
So which organized interest is this intended to please? (Hint: not the borrowers.)

If it were ineffective, they wouldn't oppose it. Seriously. Building it would create "shovel-ready jobs" and everything. This is literally the only public-works project any of these people has ever opposed. Why? They want open borders, because we won't vote for them.
@DailyCaller
@RepAdamSchiff
He's such a transparent manipulator. Preparing for testimony and assembling documents on two days' notice is a ridiculous demand.
This is your annual reminder that from the first year of Thomas Jefferson's presidency to the first year of Woodrow Wilson's, the State of the Union Message was a written message.
In August 1823, Secretary of State John Quincy Adams wrote the president of Harvard asking whether his son John, a grandson of the second U.S. president, might receive a Harvard degree despite his expulsion for leading a student riot. No, answered President Kirkland. No.

So the entire Swamp agrees that all its members are entitled to lifetime access to hyper-secret material. They insist they're Life Lords. Do these people not see that they're playing into Pres. Trump's hands?
The price of a gallon of gas is up nationwide $.08 overnight and $.60 in the last week. Reuters reports that the White House is modeling a rise past $200/barrel. It still takes 190 days for the Federal Government to process a lease application; the State of Texas: two days.
@AP
"Proof"? She claimed to be an Indian, and her DNA results showed she was 1/1024 Indian--half the white American average. If that's "proof," what would be disproof?
