For people who will inevitably wonder what a Kirpan is and why it means so much to baptized Sikhs, you can read, share and distribute these:
Wow Sidhu Moosewala’s moms speech just gave me goosebumps. She said Punjab is enslaved and not free and made a strong statement in support of Bhai Amritpal Singh.
Waheguru
Kobe Bryant was an icon that Sikhs in California loved and respected. Kobe's game unified the community as the focus of many gatherings. Perhaps the 'Mamba Mentality' mirrored the community's own work ethic.
Amazing gesture by the Nanaksar Gurdwara in Fresno.
#MambaForever
Dang Kyrie Irving really approached a Singh at the Mavs Kings game last night with a warm VJKKVJKF saying he only listens to Sidhu Moosewala’s music now and it helps inspire his game.
#wojbomb
Almost missed a Singh nod from a fellow Singh at the gym. As he looks away, depressed, I notice and I make sure I come into his peripheral vision and do the most powerful SENGH nod to show bhi haan SENGH I see you. A tragedy averted. Balance in The Force restored.
[1] She forced mass-sterilizations
[2] Declared emergency 1975-77 and arrested+assassinated her political rivals
[3] Scapegoated Sikhs to justify it & used military to attack the Sikh Vatican (Harmandir Sahib) on the busiest day of the year to ensure maximum civilian casualties.
In 1976, the “Empress of India” had become India’s great authoritarian. Indira Gandhi, daughter of the nation’s first Prime Minister, is one of TIME's 100 women who defined the last century

This Afghan Sikh makes an emotional plea to Sikhs worldwide after the recent Islamic terrorist attack on a Sikh Gurdwara in Kabul.
At what point will we learn that nobody stands with us, and will stand for us, except our own.
We have to act now to save them.
#SaveAfghanSikhs
Punjabis by and large don’t deserve someone like Amritpal Singh to sacrifice his youth for them. He’s an honest young Sikh who had the interest of the Panth at heart and folks will paint him as a sellout or agent just because their ਸੰਸਥਾ/org/ਧਿਰ disagrees with him ideologically.
The decision to close Sri Harmandir Sahib off from general public was the right decision. India doesn't have the infrastructure nor ventilators to properly sustain a prolonged epidemic. Every precaution taken will be critical for saving countless lives in India right now.
I met Kanwar Grewal almost 2 years ago. He come up to me on his own and said Fateh Sardar Ji and was super nice. Was taken aback at how down to earth he was and we had a short conversation.
Massive respect to him
The current discussions related to Afghanistani Sikhs from diaspora Sikhs are largely disconnected from their ground realities and WHAT THEY WANT.
Here Afghan Sikhs who fled Afghanistan show how they're happy CAA finally recognizes them as citizens in their new country.
Just got home from watching Laal Singh Chadda, was surprisingly a really good/family movie. Really refreshing to see there was no beadbi, and they portrayed Sikhs in a respectable manner.
Props to the SGPC for intervening to ensure the state narrative wasn't present WRT 1984.
21st century Sikhs today who view their political party/ideology as their religion will probably feel uncomfortable at a series of clips in going to post.
Below is a Republican, one of the first few, to raise their voice against India’s treatment of Sikhs in the 1985.
This was Sidhu Moosewala. I remember the Snapchat that Sidhu removed due to optics where he sang Sheran De Dereyan De.
My heart genuinely hurts. Gone way too early.
Amaan Bali (and Jaskaran Sandhu for sticking to his guns and having guts) deserves so much respect in this case. Useless diaspora orgs tried to gaslight Kashmiri Sikh voices and their experiences.
The lefties who are silent and tried to deflect from this issue are dushts.
Nihang Singhs from Punjab went to Gurdwara Mangu Math in Odisha, where Guru Nanak Dev Ji recited Aarti, to protest the demolition of the GW.
The Singhs went prepared to give shaheedi and put up a Khanda Nishan Sahib and did Path after forcibly taking back the Gurdwara Sahib.
Horrific pictures showing the plight of Sikhs in Afghanistan. They have little allies and need to find asylum in a safe country.
Majority Sikh leadership in the past couple years were wiped out by Islamist terrorists, and the carnage continues.
Sikh orgs need not ignore this.
Seeing Sikhs applaud the repeal of Roe v. Wade is pretty frustrating to say the least. I have no issue with Sikhs having a social culture against abortion, the issue occurs when you apply this with a mandate, and on non-Sikhs.
There's nothing dharmic about the SCOTUS's decision.
Still disturbed by passing of Bhai Jarnail Singh, he sacrificed his career to throw a shoe at a home minister responsible for pardoning Jagdish Tytler and we couldn’t even remember him when he needed us.
World is very cruel.
Sikhs have to deal with RW Hindutva trying to appropriate Guru Sahib’s shaheedi, comrades trying to sanitize the importance of dharam and Panth and then we have Aurangzeb apologists who try to say Guru Sahib was a petty criminal who was executed for causing trouble for Auranga.
Everyone who hated on Deep Sidhu as a reaction to the protests showed how kachay you all are in terms of being fake Panthic and only standing for the Kisaans when it was good optics.
So quick to turn on our own. Lakh di lahnat tuhade saareyan te
Cancelling my
@netflix
membership after this, and won’t be renewing it. Good excuse to get rid of a time waster.
Punjabis overall are really stupid if they’re supporting this propaganda movie meant for non-Punjabis as a revisionist film with an anti-Sikh bias.
Beautiful seeing a true restoration of Gurdwara Choha Sahib. It was commissioned by Maharaja Ranjit Singh in memory of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Udassin here.
Huge contrast to the almost complete destruction of our history in East Punjab at the hands of Kar Sewa Babas in the
Modern Jatt spirituality:
- Doesn’t eat meat for a week for the one day he decides to visit a GW.
- Posts cringe stuff like this thinking it’s funny & a “gotcha”. It’s not
- IQ so low he thinks you can either have fun or keep kesh
- Figuring out which barber he wants to visit
What “Sikh”Twitter has become:
Complaining about guys and girls not being into Sikhi. Still complaining when they try.
Nobody is born a saint, and historically most Sikhs haven’t been saints. This path is for people who need it. Don’t let randos on twitter tell you otherwise
Spending time at Gurdwaras closely connected to Gurithihaas managed by the Nihangs of the Dal is indescribable.
Makes you want to never leave. Kirpa of Guru Gobind Singh Ji to have created an immortal Panth. Nothing compares in this world.
An ex BJP IT cell Singh recently stepped down and left the party and IT cell because he believed they were misleading the people.
Anakh jaag pyi. We should all support him, he’s an example for all Sikhs who may be on the fence.
Khanda Symbol was formalized during the Raj of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, as seen in the first bronze coin from the early 1800’s from a Sikh mint.
Earlier coins from Mughal era, as far back as 17th century were later retroactively restamped to assert Sikh hegemony w/o mints.
Chardikala affirmation for today:
We need to kill it in whatever field we go into. STEM fields help provide the most consistent form of high income. Acquire wealth. Sacrifice time. Help build the community and shape our global narrative. Read your history.
‘ਪੰਥ ਵਸੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਜੜਾ’
Pretty good article given context that this guy had no idea who Bhai Amritpal Singh was prior to writing this article and no idea what this was about.
Can’t imagine how triggered some folk are going to be reading through it lol
I wasn’t aware the
@BBC
employed racist individuals like
@ZareerMasani
who call the sacred turban of the Sikhs “sweaty and smelly”! He further tells Sikhs to remove their turbans.
Apalled at this blatant disrespect and racist comments. Does the BBC condone this?
@BBCRadio4
June 5, 1984. The brilliance of the decorated Maj General Shabeg Singh’s planning and tactics are shown. Gen Shabeg Singh’s once military colleagues are no match for him and the Khalsa warriors bravely defending Harmandir Sahib.
#NeverForget1984
Can we drink Chaa/Tea?
The British introduced chaa to Indians when they invaded & said it's a drink from heaven that the rich drink like kings & queens as a way to bribe people to convert to Christianity.
No one was allowed to drink any type of tea in Dal Panth.
>Alicia Keys tweets something positive about Sikhi
Brown Twitter: "Yo buddy fawkk yo you want beef, Alicia? My cousin Babbu is a TANKKKK yoo. You don't even know nothing about Sikhi"
The fact all these accounts post is badass clips/news of Sikhs just shows there's a freudian aspect where these guys are actually deeply fascinated and jealous of Sikhs.
Much like how their founding father (Savarkar) was in awe of the Khalsa and disappointed in his own people.
Nihang forcefully removed the caps of the devotees who reached Anandpur Sahib for Hola Mahalla. Would they dare to do it with any mslm & force him to remove his skull cap while visiting Gurudwara ? Obviously not 🚫
Unfollowing everyone that posted about or interacted with anything related to posting the community’s baisti for a couple likes or RTs, y’all should do the same
Seeing a Khalsa killed in bana in front of so many Sikhs and nobody doing anything is just disgusting man.
Legit infuriating. Nothing but gross depravity deeply rooted in the average Punjabi who claims to come from a Sikh household in Punjab is the only explanation.
Idk why people are so triggered. Dudes just out and about being himself and people bringing the kaum into it and questioning his manhood.
If you have to clown on this dude, I guarantee you are not that dude you trying to project yourself as on the internet for a quick laugh
My 4 month old son just got his 1400$ stimmy check. Was about to buy him a Xbox 360 with it but he stopped me and said, “Dad, an Xbox is a depreciating asset, invest that money into stocks 📈”
I’ve never been more proud as a father
LMFAO some Singhs made fake accounts of Harman Kapoor and his wife and trolled Puneet Sahani 😂😂😂
He deleted his tweet and unfollowed after realizing it a day later. Apne vi hattde nhin 😂😂😂
Three years since Sandeep Dhaliwal was shot, whatever your views are, he tangibly brought a positive change to Sikhs in his area.
He joined the Sheriffs dept after the harassment of an Amritdhari family due to ignorance of who Sikhs are and why they carry kirpans.
RIP
Amritpal Singh's parents today met him in the Dibrugarh jail. Parents of Singh distributed the sweets to the Jail staff & journalists standing outside the jail. Mother of Singh talking to the media said along with sweets, brought clothes for Singh sooner he will go for an oath
Happy 550th Gurpurab. Today I remember that Guru Sahib can't be reduced to just a revolutionary. Guru Nanak was God manifest in Kalyug to spread God's name and Dharam. Only through Dharam and connection to God does Guru Sahib's vision manifest.
Singh’s and Kaurs going on and on about being ‘Jatt’ is cringe and bottom barrel behavior.
Go outside and interact with someone outside of twitter and try to develop a personality.
Promise people won’t think you’re cool and edgy because you quote a song.
It does feel sad to see Imran Khan go. He was definitely pro minority in a sincere sense. He backed it up by building real relationships and good faith with Sikhs internationally. Genuinely seemed like a good dude.
Wishing the best for Pakistan's future
June 2, 1984 marks the second day of military action against the holiest Sikh site: Harmandir Sahib. As the indian army fully mobilizes, the Khalsa Singhs prepare themselves to defend Harmandir Sahib with their lives.
#NeverForget1984
Sikhs have a right to discuss their own modes of sovereignity. It's normal and okay to have a belief that Sikhs can have their own sovereignity and land, and have a diversified means of potentially reaching that.
What irks me are those who are anti just for the sake of it.
Bhagat Puran Singh didn’t need multinational, multimillion dollar corporate style aid orgs collecting money in the Panth’s name, and yet he achieved everything and more.
One clearly honored in the court of the Guru, and the other honored in the mainstream media.
The Sikh diaspora has its own faults. Sikhs in India have their own faults. Together nobody can stop us. The media and powers to be spread propaganda to divide us, but new generation ain’t buying it!
Love to see this new Panthic energy slowly sweep all over.
Take a moment to step away from robotically posting infographics or ritualistically posting about this week, 39 years ago.
Read why they fought, what they defended and what they stood for on your own. It’s much more meaningful that way.
Singh’s went from being feared and respected to nice quiet saadhs.
Need to change this in our generation. Way too much casual slander happening in the community. Have overheard so many sly comments at ‘any desi event/gathering I’ve been to.
Sant Bhindranwale continues to be redeemed and deeply remembered as a visionary who was decades ahead of his time.
These guys are not our allies. Never have been. And never will be.
Sept 8, 1988: Rep. Dan Burton Republican of Indiana speaks of the plight of the Sikhs, and criticizes Rajiv Gandhi’s government as a false democracy dictatorship, that is complicit in torturing and raping Sikhs. He also exposed the communist ties to India enabling this.
Want to make a difference outside of social media and organizing Have uncomfortable conversations with your Punjabi friends about what’s going on in Punjab, and how to get closer to the Panth. You’d be surprised how much of an information void you can fill
These modern Ambedkarites are so cringe and lost the plot. Their primary identity is their caste primarily and then being a Sikh - hence the cringe worldview and viewing everything solely along the lines of caste.
In a world of cringlords like this, remember legends like
Hari Singh Nalwa was a khatri who killed innocent muslim tribes on the command of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. Not a Hero. Upper-caste Sikh twitter do your work: get offended.
Full support to Bhai Amritpal Singh running for MP from Khadur Sahib.
Those with no skin in the game deliberately pick utopic rules for engagement to ensure the stagnation of Sikh interests.
The same people justify/ied the killing of Bhai Harminder Singh Sandhu.
Pay attention to the people in the community who deliberately are silent about Lt Sandeep Dhaliwal.
Their personal toxic politics and hate overshadow their love for the community.
This is such an unfortunate loss for Sikh acadamia, and the Sikh community in general. He low key funded a lot of Sikh research and succesfully has preserved many Sikh manuscripts and priceless Sikh artefacts.
What a legend who lived his success through giving back to the Panth.
Dr Narinder Singh Kapany 'father of fibre optics' passed away today at the age of 94. He was named one of the seven “Unsung Heroes” by Fortune magazine and called Businessmen of the Century in its issue. In 1967 he founded the Sikh Foundation to pursue the cause of Sikh arts.
Maurh was an amazing film depicting rural life in Malwa in pre-Singh Sabha Punjab. Was surprised at how good the dialogues were, accurate depictions of cultural norms and how they were able to foil things villagers of those days valued.
