Dorian now has 140mph winds and will be devastating to the northern Bahamas--the new track just 'scrapes' the Florida coast. Hopefully, stays even more off-shore!
52mph Winds reported at Crystal Beach---be careful...plenty of dangerous lightning and heavy rain coming through right now and headed to Galveston. Frank
Dorian track has a Cat 4 to Florida Tuesday BUT latest American Model just scrapes along the Florida coast and the Euro keeps it off the coast---so, keep your fingers crossed!
My mom is in memory care, but happy and thriving. This morning she taught me that, in a pinch, you CAN use lipstick as blush. @ The Village of River Oaks
Did you get a little Red Dirt Dust Storm last night? Showers originated in the desert areas around Del Rio and, just like African dust can be transported, so can Del Rio Dust! Showers were heavy enough to bring the red dirt down with the rain and sleet!
Picked up my Demeris bbq for take home tonight. Our restaurants need our business now... be smart about it, but get to the curbside, drive through or delivery and support them! mykitchen
Dark skies in Galveston as the first wave of tropical moisture approaches. Flash Flood Watch through Thursday morning. 3-5" rain, 6-8" isolated. Turn Around, Don't Drown!
Hurricane Barbara in the Pacific strengthens to 155mph sustained winds! That's about as strong a Cat 4 as you can get (157mph would put it at Cat 5). Expected to begin weakening over cooler water tomorrow. Frank

0% Chance for 91-L to develop, but still a messy commute tomorrow morning. Heavy downpours of 2-4" possible so don't let your guard down after this fairly quiet evening. Rain lingers through lunch. Frank

Line of Thundershowers pushes this way overnight, in the Houston area in time for the morning commute. Some of these will fall apart but a few drenching downpours certainly possible. Plan for extra time to be safe! Frank
A successful follow up surgery today... all good, but not home until tomorrow and out for the week. Thanks to Dr. David Goldfarb and the wonderful Houston Methodist staff.

At least one model, the RPM, suggests 10-20" of rain between Tuesday night and Thursday afternoon. I'll have all the model runs tonight on KPRC Channel 2 News at 10! Frank
Smoke Plume forecast through 6pm. Areas along the 290 corridor and into Montgomery County seeing the plume today, right now about a mile abov earth. Calming winds tonight means it won't move much tomorrow.
Here is the video used by the NWS to confirm the Crosby tornado. You can see the spin up at :10 in and it lasts only two seconds (maybe one!) so you can understand why this went undetected! Probably the shortest tornado on record!!
Confirmation of the tornado that touched down and caused damage at the Crosby Meadows Apartments this morning (05.20.2021). Video was sent to me from Summer Crummel SaintWolf (her neighbor captured this on their security camera). 🌪

Travel weather tomorrow across the nation! Are you staying home or heading out? Me...I'm headed to the beach for a crawfish boil and a steak! What about you?
Hurricane Barbara in the Pacific---not our issue, but, wow, an impressive 130mph storm! Too early to tell if Hawaii will be affected as Barbara will be moving over much cooler water this weekend which will weaken it. Frank
Highs Today but look at those records on this day in 2013! Pride Parade rolled down Westheimer and I was Grand Marshall and it was 107! I haven't been invited back....lol
Heat Warnings and Advisories through at least Friday for much of Texas. So far, not for SE Texas but with Feels Like temps in the 110 range this weekend, don't be surprised to see one! Be careful, stay hydrated!
