No. We are absolutely, unequivocally, undoubtedly NOT going to get 30 inches of snow on Tuesday. The places that post that garbage have no interest in anything other than clicks, shares, and likes. They are not interested in helping anyone. It is 100% idiotic nonsense.

Tropical Storm Barry continues to move toward the Gulf Coast, where it will bring bigtime rain & flooding. Some places will get over a foot of rain. It's forecast to briefly become a hurricane before making landfall (between the two forecast times of 1 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday).

It's too hot...too humid...and this line of storms is vicious. A derecho is possible as it moves ESE...northern Iowa, please pay attention later this afternoon into this evening! Farther south, it's questionable how strong it may be...pay attention anyways...it's very volatile.

A Winter Storm Warning has now been issued for Saturday for the areas in pink on this map, generally along and south of Highway 30. A Winter Weather Advisory is also posted for the Highway 20 corridor. All in all, our thinking on this weekend's storm hasn't changed a lot. -Corey

The snow has kept coming and coming in eastern Iowa over the past 2-3 weeks as we all know. Here's something you may NOT know - we have more snow on the ground right now than the Dakotas and southern Canada! Nature is definitely picking on us.

@AndyHenryIC8 There was a tornado risk. Is the life of somebody who doesn't live where YOU live less valuable than yours?

"Whatever happened to global warming?" Just because it's been colder than normal here doesn't mean that climate change has taken a break.
