Theirs isn’t a player in the state that had a better season or meant more to their team than Dowell did. They just robbed one of the all time great season in Tennessee High School Football history.

Malaki Dowell rushed for over 3,000 yards while not even playing in all 12 games. The fact that he did not win Mr. Football is a travesty, and the “committee of statewide sports writers selected winners based on performance in the 2022 regular season” should no longer have votes.

This won’t be a popular opinion with a lot of my coaching buddies, but @NCAA_FCS should absolutely be played in the spring going forward. There are more eyes on these games right now than would ever be in the fall competing against the rest of college football and the NFL.
