The racism against Arabs, Muslims, Palestinians, and the intersection of these identities in the west is so casual, so run of the mill, that editors at two of the world’s biggest papers can get away with blatant dehumanization.

People often fail to mention over 90,000+ are also displaced in Lebanon. Here, many are staying with relatives or friends and a smaller number are in community centers - while in Israel around 56,000 are staying in hotels in a govt funded evacuation program

The damage Israel has inflicted on Hezbollah in Lebanon - which includes 30 commanders killed - is worse than during the month long war between Israel and Lebanon in 2006. On the other hand, Hezbollah has managed to displace 80,000 residents from their homes, unprecedented.

Every child loss is a tragedy. Every civilian death should be mourned. But some are ignored while others are weaponized.

Seeing analysts and politicians who have been defending a whole genocide now show sympathy for the children of Majdal Shams tells us a lot about the twisted ways children are used for point-scoring.

For anyone in Beirut, we’re doing a small commemoration for my father on Thursday at 5:30pm at Dar. Then a small selection of his photos will be on display for another week.

I occasionally get a message from DC friends about how hard it is. I stopped responding pretty early on. If you didnt know this was what your career would entail it's not up to us in the region to clear your conscious

this is probably not all that charitable but I am simply tired of unnamed and anonymous officials doing all this. quit or don't. if you do, I don't really care or need to know about it. If you don't, then you're continually, willingly complicit, and I don't need to hear from you.

Seeing some really bad takes that the football on display justified the decision to grant this World Cup. Can we not think critically & imagine a less euro-centric World Cup in a country that wouldn’t lead to the deaths of so many workers?

Today, 4 people were killed, 3 civilians (2 kids) & Hzb fighter. Israel’s attacks on south Lebanon have been gravely under reported and overlooked. I wrote about their impact. @hrw say the indiscriminate nature of these attacks amount to war crimes.

Two days ago, security in Beirut’s downtown started to expel people - mostly non Lebanese refugees or foreign labourers - from parks & places they had set up to flee Dahiyeh & south. To do this, let alone under such circumstances, is inhumane
