Just spoken to a devastated Mel Morris. Told me #dcfc has been losing £1.3-1.5m a month because of Covid and the breakdown in another takeover deal LAST WEEK was key. Administration unavoidable. Those buyers may well come back in now that the price will be much lower in admin.

He actually did a really poor job at Derby in hindsight: Outperformed xG every week due to Harry Wilson. Scraped 6th with 2 of the most talented youngsters on loan. Spent £10m on strikers and barely played them in spells. Didn’t start a striker in the play off final.

I think some people forget what a terrific job Lampard did at Derby and in the first season at Chelsea. Top four when many tipped them for mid-table. Even in his second season, 17 game unbeaten run before Xmas. Whoever gets him next will be getting a fine, young, driven manager.
