British police really murdered a young Black man who was unarmed. I beg everyone deeps what just happened cos I’m baffled that this has happened again after Mark Duggan in 2011. Their intel wasn’t strong enough to know if he was strapped or not? This was a racist attack.
@DramahUK
“I’m not a racist; I had a weak moment.” LOL. You called your baby’s mother a “nigger lover.” Just delete your whole Twitter bro. That career you wanted from grime is officially over.
Never thought I’d be typing this one here… R.I.P
@jamaledwards
. True UK music legend. Been a real one since we connected back in ‘08, when I had to sneak you into my grime rave to film cos you were only 17… You changed the game big time! Rest easy, my brother 🙏🏾💔
Anyone who cares about ONLINE “followers” being lost during this time of black pain and realness needs to have a quiet word with themselves. Real talk.
When we get back to real life, we need to redefine this “influencer” thing. People promoting dead garms and products to thousands of people shouldn’t have that title. It should be solely for people making change in the place. (See: Marcus Rashford.)
Salute the non-black people, who are important and valid in the culture, that know they’re guests in the culture. This is black culture, not “urban” or any other tag. Big up those that know their place. Big up you man.
What
@Twitter
can do today, for us all and not just black folk, is ban this
@kthopkins
person for life. She shouldn’t have a platform. She already doesn’t have a career so let’s dun her dance properly.
This “In The Fire” performance shows how much the levels in UK rap has been raised over the years, generation to generation. Yo, proud times.

The UK’s in serious need of artist development. (Some) labels need to get back to it, and independent artist managers need to school themselves on it asap. Signs starting to show.. Can’t rush the process/greatness.
And I’ll say it again: The grime resurgence of 2014-2016 opened the floodgates for Black music in the UK to be taken seriously on a mainstream level. There’s no argument to be had.
This one’s big/for the culture 🇬🇧🏆

3 years ago today! 🙌🏾 S/O the team for helping to create one of the most important platforms documenting the past, present, and future of Black British music and culture. Get ready for the next chapter.🏆
So the feds are trying to recall rappers for going to Black Lives Matter protests (peaceful protests) and doing good for their community? Can this country get any more racist man smh.
“Only black people know how it feels to see someone who could easily have been their dad, brother, uncle, mother, aunt or sister murdered while the world looks on.”
I got real for the

When we big up the British rap scene, let’s not forget acts like Knucks, DC, Jordy, Kam-Bu, Lord Apex, Louis Culture, Che Lingo etc... These guys are rapping-rapping.
We keep falling into the Daily Mail’s trap... We shouldn’t care what their dead writers and readers think about our culture. They’re the peasants now. We out here getting MBEs. Allow it.
This ‘grime is dead’ thing needs to stop cropping up. Just put respect on the genre that opened doors for Black British music to be shining like it is today, and keep it moving. We’ve been here too many times lol.
These YouTube and reality TV stars getting record deals to start their rap careers are taking up space for real talent. The comment piece is coming lol.
The grime set Chip held yesterday, we need more of that — back to the elements, back to the roots, back to the underground stuff for a full reset. The mainstream ain’t the be-all and end-all. Black British music thrived without it before and it can do it again 💯
My predictions for 2022:
There will be a Grime 3.0.
V9, Clavish and Teeway are gonna impact the scene like Digga and Central did this year.
Giggs will drop his best project since ‘Landlord’.
UK R&B will give us a new globally-seen artist.
I’m always right.
"Garage is Black. Grime is Black. House is Black. Techno is Black. It's all Black music. Yet still, Black originators are being rubbed out of the history books."

. My big bro died from complications last year, and I have a trait. The more awareness, the better. So yeah, big up the show 💯 It’s a dope watch as well.
“UK R&B is dead” “Grime is dead” “UK drill’s dying out”. The people I see saying this don’t support any of the artists but continue to chat breeze on the TL. What are you doing to help though? Ask yourself that question. Every day.
We should all be able to see the grind of artists working for their spots, that big radio freestyle, playlist, magazine interview, event. And it’s down to the people running the platforms to regulate that. One viral track should not equal a ‘Fire In The Booth’ or ‘Daily Duppy’.
All the things we thought changed after George Floyd/BLM seems to be going right back to how it was. What happened to all these “pledges” from these big corporations as well? Bare talk, fam.
