New narrative: Men who have sex with men have always engaged well with sexual health services allowing us to spot patterns of odd symptoms we couldn’t explain and flag this to see if others had seen similar. This led us to discovering a #Monkeypox outbreak. Well done them.

For every referral we get, there are 100s managed by a GP without secondary care. For every person sent to A&E, there are 100s who were managed in the community. Those of us in hospital have no idea about the real population of patients because we never see them.

Sexually transmitted: the primary route of transmission is through sex e.g. chlamydia, gonorrhoea, Syphilis Sexually transmissible: the potential to transmit during sex including through close physical contact e.g. molluscum, scabies, and many many other infections

Ok for the last time, monkeypox is not a sexually transmitted disease. Just because you can catch something off your sexual partner doesn't make it an STI. Is flu an STI? No. So shut up.

@Aleexxies 3 weeks of 3 consecutive nights AKA 3 nights per week for 3 weeks (i.e 9 shifts in 21 days or 12 days off.... I don’t work nights anymore so all night shifters have my sympathy. But misrepresenting the truth minimises actual rota issues people have
