So deeply sad to hear about Tina Turner's passing… I loved her version of Proud Mary! It was different and fantastic. I was also so happy because she chose my song and it was her breakthrough record.
As of this January, I own my own songs again. This is something I thought would never be a possibility. After 50 years, I am finally reunited with my songs. I also have a say in where and how my songs are used. Up until this year, that is something I have never been able to do.
Fortunate Son is a song I wrote during the Vietnam War, inspired by the stark contrast between those who were drafted to fight and die for their country and those who had the privilege to avoid the draft because of their wealth and connections.
Reflecting on a cherished memory of when Shane,Tyler, & I took this photo with the incomparable Tina Turner. Beyond her immense talent, she was incredibly kind-hearted and gracious. Her genuine spirit touched the hearts of everyone she encountered. 🙏🎵

A huge milestone for me and my career - I am now the proud owner of the publishing rights to my own music. Thank you to
@LesterHoltNBC
and
@NBCNightlyNews
for having me on to share my journey. A true testament to the power of perseverance and never giving up on your dreams. ✌🏼
It took 75 years & it’s a little different than I envisioned. On my birthday I get to fulfill my dream playin' “Centerfield” in centerfield with my kids on the team. Hopefully it won't be long until we are able to have baseball back. “Put me in coach, I'm ready to play!” ⚾️🏟
So sad that our friend Bill Walton has passed away. He was truly a very special and joyful person and his megawatt smile made everyone smile! His enthusiasm for life and all things rock and roll was unstoppable and we miss you Bill! Our love and prayers to Lori and family.
John and the crowd payed homage to the Queen of Rock 'n' Roll, Tina Turner. Her passing left us with bittersweet emotions, & the crowd came together in a heartfelt tribute.
Her spirit resonated through all of us as we sang. What a moment to share together!❤️

I first saw The

in 1966 in the Bay Area and have been a fan ever since. Charlie Watts was one of the great drummers and will be missed. Rest easy Charlie
54 years ago today I recorded ‘Green River’ album with Creedence Clearwater Revival which would later be released in August of 1969. It was the 2nd of 3 albums that I released that year, the others being ‘Bayou Country’ and ‘Willy and the Poor Boys’.
Throwback to when David Letterman taught Jerry Garcia how to play “Proud Mary” on guitar 🎸
Later, in 1991

Sad to see that Willie Mays has passed away. When I was a kid the Giants came to San Francisco and Willie was the Greatest of All Time! I was lucky to see him play many many times at Candlestick Park and he is the standard that Greatness is measured by.
It's a protest song that speaks to the timeless issue of social injustice and the abuse of power. I'm proud that it still resonates with audiences today, and I hope it continues to inspire people to speak out against inequality and corruption. ✌🏼🎸
I am looking forward to touring and celebrating this year! I want to thank
@ConcordRecords
for helping to make all of this happen. And, I am excited for new ideas and a renewed interest in my music … like a revival.

It’s an incredible honor to hear this coming from one of the greatest songwriters of all time and one of my personal heroes!
Look who I ran into before his performance at the Super Bowl. What an amazing talent. I am thrilled and honored he recorded a song I wrote, “Joy of My Life”. I got to tell him what that meant to me. Valentines Day I will be releasing a new arrangement of my song.
Sad to hear of the passing of Jerry Lee Lewis. Love his music and I was hugely influenced by his records and live performances which were always full of fire and inspiration! No one could touch him!
God Bless you, Jerry Lee ❤️👼🏼
54 years ago today the album ‘Green River’ was released and features some of my favorite songs I’ve written: “Green River” the title track, “Bad Moon Rising”, “Lodi”, and “Wrote A Song For Everyone” to name a few.
I saw this last night after I got off stage. Thanks to the fans for singing these songs, loving these songs, and celebrating with me! I'm just having the time of my life!

Still over the moon about the news last week. Look at all these amazing publications that wrote a story about it… so thankful for their support on being able to amplify this very special moment in my career! 🤘🏼🎸
“So saddened to hear of Eddie Van Halen’s passing. I stood in awe and complete wonderment of Eddie’s immense talent and amazing guitar ability. One of the greatest rockers ever and I will miss him.”

Happy Birthday to the legendary George Harrison, a true pioneer of rock and roll and an inspiration to musicians all over the world. May your music continue to resonate with us for generations to come!

I’m sure pulling for
@edsheeran
and his song Thinking Out Loud. Ed has said he will quit music if he loses this case. Man, I sure know how he feels, but don’t let ‘em get you down, Ed. We need you to keep writing wonderful, new, original songs that the whole world sings!
It's been 54 years since "Lookin' Out My Back Door" was released!
This track was released as a single from ‘Cosmo's Factory’ and ranked number two on Billboard Hot 100.

Look who I ran into last night…my favorite actor! I played a benefit honoring and raising funds for mental health for front line responders in Santa Barbara. Thrilled to have been a part of this night. Not to mention I haven’t missed an episode of Yellowstone.
26 years of "The Big Lebowski" 🎳
"Remember when The Dude had Creedence tapes in his car? As a fan, it was cool to hear the mention of my songs."
-John Fogerty
Who remembers this iconic Jeff Bridges scene of John's song "Lookin' Out My Back Door?"
We are devastated to hear about Dusty’s passing. We were so blessed to share the stage with the great Dusty and ZZ Top many times, and if that wasn’t Rock and Roll heaven, I don’t know what is. The show we did together just last week would be his last. So heartbreaking.
Happy Birthday to the one and only
@DollyParton
!
Dolly released a song today called “Don’t Make Me Have To Come Down There” for her birthday. Take a moment to give it a listen and send her some birthday wishes.
More exciting news coming soon…
“I am humbled and honored to have my song “Fortunate Son” achieve one billion streams [on Spotify]. This comes at a time when I have finally acquired the rights to my early songs after a lifetime of waiting,” says John Fogerty.
On this day in 1969, “Green River” was released.
"Green River" peaked at number two on the charts, behind the novelty bubblegum pop song "Sugar, Sugar" by "The Archies". The song was based on John’s childhood vacation spot!

What a year it’s been. I got my songs back! I am so grateful and joyful over this. Thank you for loving these songs, singing these songs, and celebrating with me. I knew I wanted to be a songwriter at 8 years old. I still feel the same way and I just love making music. Thank you!
On this day 54 years ago ‘Bad Moon Rising,’ was released as the lead single for John Fogerty/CCR’s album ‘Green River.’ It has become one of the most iconic and beloved tracks in rock history.
I put my own spin on 'Heard It Through The Grapevine' for CCR's Cosmo's Factory. The power of a great song will out live us all and this one still takes me by surprise! It's a great reminder of why I love making music and why I think this song is a timeless classic.
'Proud Mary' is one of my proudest creations. I still remember the moment when the song came to me. Proud Mary was recorded in 1968 and was written two days after I was discharged from the National Guard, hence the line, “Left a good job in the city.”
It’s amazing to see that even after 50 years, a song I wrote, “Have You Ever Seen The Rain” has reached
#1
on the

charts. Very grateful that people still listen to my music around the world! Thank you 🤘🏼❤️
Sad to see the passing of my old friend, Duane Eddy. Duane was a hero and HUGE inspiration to me and his music is still lighting the way! What tone! What a sound!

It’s been quite the year so far, but I couldn’t have asked for a better way to start the new year. There are a lot of amazing things in store for 2023 and hope to see you all out on the road!
On this day 55 years ago, The Woodstock Music and Art Fair kicked off in Bethel, NY! Creedence headlined Saturday night. Earlier this Summer John Fogerty and the band got to perform/celebrate in Bethel and revisit the original site of the festival. What an experience!
About a year ago when I got my songs back… I headed to Dollywood to record a version of the song “Long As I Can See The Light” with the incredible

for her new album ‘Rockstar’ which is out now!
Listen to our version together:
"Green River" on the Andy Williams Show in 1969!
“Green River” was title track of the album released in 1969. It was the second of three albums John/CCR released that year, preceded by ‘Bayou Country’ in January and followed by ‘Willy and the Poor Boys’ in November.
Wow this is incredible. It's an amazing milestone & it is all because of you. The song I wrote holds a special place for me and I am humbled by how many of you feel the same. Your streams, shares & kind words have propelled my song to new heights!
Happy Birthday to The Boss

who turned 71 this week. Here's a photo of John jamming with Bruce at the 25th Anniversary Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Concert at Madison Square Garden on October 29, 2009.
Always loved the outdoors. Wrote quite a few songs about it. Can’t wait to see you in 2024 … starting in February!
Does anyone recognize the view?
P.S. I hurt my shoulder from lifting guitars over my shoulder, not the hike :)
53 years ago today this iconic

magazine cover and interview were released…and clippings of the interview can still be found online on Rolling Stone’s website. 🤘🏼
“Down In The Corner” from the album, “Willy And The Poor Boys”
The line and title of the album, “Willy And The Poor Boys” was inspired by a full-page ad that John saw in a newspaper about “Winnie the Pooh”.
53 years ago today, on Christmas Eve 1967, John came up with the name "Creedence Clearwater Revival" while watching the television and seeing a beer commercial and "Clean Water for Washington, D.C." advertisement. Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas!🎄
Well, that's one way to make a grand entrance! Looks like the aliens decided to skip the traffic and parachute in from the stars. 🛸✨
With all these alien news stories going around… I couldn’t help, but think of the song I wrote called “It Came Out Of The Sky”.
Julie and I are completely heartbroken over the passing of Taylor Hawkins. He was a friend and one of the most uplifting and inspiring people we have ever known. A great drummer and a wonderful human being.
This year is a special anniversary for it was 50 years ago on Christmas Eve, that I stumbled upon the right words to name my band… Creedence Clearwater Revival
At the time the name was better than we were… I knew it was something to live up to and I got down to work.
Evacuated from the fires and holed up in a hotel all week. Never know who you're going to run into. Rock and roll! Two Irishmen. A toast to better days. Sending well wishes to everyone during this difficult time. Cheers!
