About 2500 bhp apparently.
You’re welcome.
I don’t even know how all these people are seeing my tweet.
I’m absolutely overwhelmed by the responses from all over the world.
You’re all wonderful. Thank you.
FYI anyone looking for a modern but retro looking stereo for their classic car Blaupunkt has released their Bremen SQR 46 which looks like a stock unit but has DAB - Retro Classic Bluetooth USB Stereo features etc.
I’m considering one to replace the modern unit in the 480.
One of the lads on my job is wearing what I can only describe as “bus seat chic” and I have to be honest, I’m kind of digging it.
Like a 90s hatch back interior.

Soon to be available (most likely around the end of June)

I know the world is upside down and broken right now and there’s large scale change and higher priority things but I really miss car shows.
I miss meeting up with folks in a field or event somewhere and just wandering the rows & talking a load of toot.
Anyway. Back into my pit
This is for sale if anyone would like it.

Hey, remember when BMW set the record for the longest continuous drift at 232 miles and they had to refuel from another drifting car?
What happened to that style of BMW marketing?
If you were cast as a character in a film based on the car/cars you drive who or what would you play?
I’d be the boring / safe neighbour telling those cool rowdy kids to keep it down.
Or the scientist no one heeded until it was too late.
Just FYI
My 2002 Volvo C70 Coupe
2.0L Turbo Auto will be available for purchase around mid April when it gets a fresh MOT.
More details and a proper write up closer to the time.
Just putting it out there. Some folks expressed an interest when I acquired it.
Thank you all for all the lovely messages. It really does mean a lot.
Apologies if I don’t reply to all of them. I’m still sat in the car in a motorway services car park.
This thing has done over 600 miles in the past 6 days and hasn’t missed a beat. For a 28 year old car that had never been outside the county it was purchased in it has performed outstandingly well. I advise all reading this to purchase an old Volvo as soon as possible.
Aspiring film makers or even seasoned professionals, Chad Stahelski is giving a masterclass on how to properly prepare for making movies, for free right now. Preparation is key. These interviews by
@TheScottAdkins
are an invaluable insight into movie making, not just action.
This weeks episode is a bonafide action cinema masterclass from John Wick franchise director Chad Stahelski. Any aspiring directors need to get a notebook and pen - let's go!!!!!! WATCH NOW & SUBSCRIBE!!!!!!!
Well, I’ve been driving it a couple of weeks now and I have to say, the 1996 Volvo 850 T5 saloon is a superb car.
I always suspected it would be. Just the right mix of modern toys and retro appeal.
Swift, comfortable & boxy, just how I like them.
Would daily. Do daily.
Van manufacturers, vanufacturers if you will.
Stop putting third lights above the rear door lock mechanism. Thieves just pop them out to try and gain entry.
They didn’t get in this time but it’s a huge design flaw. This one is a Renualt Master.
Look at this glorious little nugget.
@ChodSpot
😍
Some wonderful person just using it as a car and everything. Driving it. On the roads etc. amazing work.
Nissan Cherry Maxima 1.3 GS
46 years ago I was bitten by a radioactive birthday. Now every year on this day I become:
Birthday Man
I can’t fly, I’m not strong but I do have mental health issues & a fleet of old Volvos.
So that’s a super power of sorts I guess.
Anyway, if you go to my profile there’s 🎈
My guy: New car Rich?
Me: Yes mate.
My Guy: What did you get?
Me: Just the usual. 😉
That’s right folks! My 1998 Volvo 940 2.3 Turbo manual wagon is here and yes it is on the good wheels already.
Pictures from this afternoon.
You’re welcome.
Yet again I’m forced to scream “when you’re doing low loader shots of column shift automatic cars put the damn car in Drive”
If the shifter is up where I can see it you’re in Park and it takes me out of the scene every time.
DOES NO ONE ON YOUR UNIT NOTICE THIS STUFF FFS?!
Remember:
When driving in wet road conditions always keep your lights off.
Always drive at full speed through standing water.
Unless you’re an SUV in which case swerve into oncoming traffic unnecessarily.
And above all else, never demist your windows for better visibility.
Hey people just hanging out on motorway bridges staring at traffic.
Can you not, it freaks me out. Cheers.
(I’m always concerned you’re waiting to drop something)
Just me? Ok.
Me phoning my curry house.
Me: Hi it’s Rich.
My guy: Hi Rich. The usual?
Me: Yes please dude.
My guy: 20-25 mins Rich.
Me: No worries see you in a bit.
Nailed it. Trying to get it down to 10 seconds.
Ok.
New car day begins now.
1: Drive my LS400 to undisclosed car storage location.
2: Taxi to hire car place.
3: Mystery hire awaits.
4: Drive to Plymouth from Wrexham.
5: Hopefully drive home in my new car.
Updates to follow.
#NewCarDay
Just your semi regular reminder that in the film Striking Distance Bruce Willis plays a character called Tom Hardy and there’s a car chase where this happens.
In response to the Volvo news today I moved a piece of furniture in mine.
I would love to buy a modern V90 estate but I usually prefer to wait 20-30 years before purchasing so I will just wait.
Four new Goodyear tyres, tracking done, bit of a wash, full of diesel.
It’ll mostly be a Sunday & Friday night motorway cruiser. I’ll have a van again through the week.
I’d hoped to get the alloys refurbed but I’ll save that until after the job.
Work S60 ready for business. 👍🏻
Me, chopping wood as a vehicle approaches down the gravel driveway:
“So you finally tracked me down? What’s the plan? One last mission? I told you I’m retired. (Swings ace into block) Ok you son-of-a-bitch, I’m in.”
My postman: “Again? Every damn day with this bullshit!”
