My elderly Mormon parents were told in patriarchal blessings that they'll live to see the 2nd coming. Due to their age, they're CONVINCED it's happening soon & have begun spending $$ they don't have, stockpiling food & supplies. It's so sad to see them living w/ this much fear.

The Mormon Church helped a pedophile sexually abuse me (covered-up his prior abuses, gave him positions of trust, warned no one)… Then, not only did the Church do NOTHING to help me, they also took $$ from my scraping-by parents & my abuser & POCKETED IT, instd of helping me.

Therein lies the problem. In the Mormon Church, the only way to disagree w/ church ldrs is to leave the church. In Mormonism, disagreeing w/ church ldrs = “hate”. There’s no way to ever be heard or say something is harmful or ask for change. They want you to leave & be silent.

If you tell your Mormon Bishop you’re in financial trouble, he’ll seek out your estranged family & tell them about it, w/o your consent. If you tell a Mormon Bishop you sexually abuse children, suddenly it becomes highly confidential & he’ll keep all your secrets. 🤔

On an all-girls hike w/ the LDS Church in HOT SoCal, I was abt to pass-out from heat. I knotted my t-shirt, exposing my stomach for air. YW Ldr yelled I was being immodest & stopped the hike til I put my shirt down. Me: But we’re all girls? Her: God sees you & is disappointed.

Want to see how truly UNSAFE your kids are in the LDS Church? The LDS SP kept a Bishop's prior abuse secret for yrs. When Bishop was arrested, SP resisted telling mmbrs their Bishop (who'd met alone w/ LDS kids for 4 yrs) had abuse allegations. Fascinating to read w/ hindsight.
