In school yesterday and today, getting the classroom ready for next week. I’ve seen a few tweets, questioning why some teachers do this. For me, it’s peace of mind. Cannot stand chaos on the first day of term.
Haven’t mentioned it on here.. however I had my first interview for a teaching job today. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the job. However, it’s been a fantastic experience and I’ll be heading back to the drawing board looking for another job to apply too. Head up and keep moving😎
Absolutely buzzing to say I’ve been made a permanent teacher at the academy I work at. Couldn’t be happier! Going from the temporary 1 Year to Permanent is a massive relief! I LOVE the school I work at 👨🏫👨🏫 Work hard and reap rewards!
I’ve had my final observation of my first ECT year. It was a very successful maths observation, I think I smashed it! The feedback I’ve received has been outstanding!
Tomorrow will be my last day as an ECT. The end of my 2nd year as a teacher. I am absolutely buzzing! I’ve loved working at my current school and cannot wait to continue in the next academic year 👊✅
I’m teaching all morning tomorrow and I am EXCITED! Morning tasks, spelling, handwriting, literacy, maths and shared reading. It’s gonna be great. I love teaching
There’s nothing like football, the atmosphere, the fans, the players & the game. It lifts you up and brings you down. Absolutely buzzing after yesterdays win!
@SUFCOfficial
played brilliantly yesterday
I DID IT! I’ve made it through the first placement! So, happy! I love being a teacher. I’ve loved the class and the school I’ve been in. Im going to miss it so much!
WHATS NEXT? Is it too early to think about what I’d like to next? I’m going into my 3rd year. I don’t want to be stagnant and I like to be constantly learning. I would like to have a go at something like this. Would be interested to get thoughts from other teachers / leaders? 🤔
Had another 15 minute drop in / observation today. Some really good feedback again! Last week I was observed for my ECT and this week focusing on maths across the school. Constantly improving and I love it
Today I’ve had my final ECT observation in Literacy! In my two years of teaching this has been by far my best lesson. It focused on drafting paragraph 1!
I’m sure there’s many things I could improve on, however, the amount of work and time I’ve put in, I’m buzzing!
We’ve had the
@ExceedLP
Trust Games today and it has been amazing! I’ve somehow managed to come away with my own medal and couldn’t be happier! Sports week is on 🔥 this week 🏃♂️🏃♂️

The results are in, today I was aiming for my first sub 21 park run. I did a SUB 20 instead!! 19:54. Couldn’t be happier. I even fell over on the last mile. Still smashed it 🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️

Monday morning, feeling somewhat tired. Managed to catch up on loads of sleep on Saturday and Sunday. Hope we all have a brilliant week

Since January, I’ve been smashing the gym and consistently running. The results both physically and mentally are brilliant. Feeling the best I’ve felt for a long time. I’m starting to see the differences it has made. MAKE TIME FOR YOURSELF 👊
It’s the last day of my first placement. I’m heading out the door. Can’t believe I and all other trainees have made it this far! I’ve loved every minute of it. It’s also
#ChristmasJumperDay
Have a great day!
KS1 Sports day this afternoon, on the LAST day of term, was absolutely brilliant! Very tiring, but successful. Everyone has absolutely smashed it. Especially all the pupils in FS2 and KS1 👊👊
I’ve had a brilliant day. We’ve had a Challenge Partners Review at School and I’ve been observed in PSHCE and it’s amazing to hear words such as ‘Strong lesson’ I am honestly over the moon. Can’t believe how far I’ve come since last year!
Really enjoyed the inset day today. Always good to learn something new, especially when it comes to literacy. I’m getting more and more confident in this subject as each week goes by. I hope this continues 👊
SLR 🏃♂️🏃♂️
3 weeks out 👏
It was a tough one 😬
12 miles at 8 minute miles (went too quick)
Stopped at mile 12 to stretch and pit stop.
7 miles at quicker than marathon pace.
1 mile cool down.
I am cooked now.
ITS TAPER TIME 🏃♂️🏃♂️

More specifically, Primary PE 5-11 PGCE (QTS)!! With
@kiwiinsheffield
you will have the best learning experiences. Plus Summer school is awesome!!!
It’s fair to the say the Summer Fayre went down an absolute treat! I can honestly say I’m feeling cold 🥶 It’s been amazing to see all the involvement too 😎
During a maths lesson today, I was working with a pupil 1-1, who was struggling with the concept of partitioning. Then it just CLICKED. He shouted, ‘I get it now!’ I was absolutely buzzing with that reaction. He smashed the rest of the lesson 👊😎
Friday Night 🔵🟡🚨
Did I run a PB in the 5K? Absolutely!
Did I beat Sub 19? Absolutely!
I ran 5K in 18:42 👊
Turns out I can actually run quick.
I also set a new 1 mile PB 5:41 🏃♂️🏃♂️

Was really good to share my experiences of teaching over the last two years and what to expect as an ECT!
Thanks for having me

This is massive! The Yorkshire Cricket Finals!!

Saturday Long Run 🏃♂️🏃♂️
Smashed 20 miles of running! Off to watch my mum run the GNR tomorrow, so had to swap my Saturday and Sunday runs around.
Anyway, training is going well!

This is probably one of those “easier said than done” especially with the workload teaching brings with it. Those who are ECTs may also be trying to figure out what works best for them.
Unbelievable Wednesday Miles 🏃♂️🏃♂️
9 Wednesday miles. They get much shorter going forward for the next 6 Wednesdays.
Feeling very strong.

What an absolutely brilliant day! KS2 sports day has been brilliant. End of the day selfie with Mrs Vose, Mrs Parish and Mrs Parkhurst 👊😎

If you’ve ever been in control of the music for a school production or talent show. You will know that the pressure is unrelenting. Managed to make it though. That will be the last time I take that role on
Two of the Year 6 boys said, ‘Mr Cocker if we get our nails painted, will you get yours done?’ I said, ‘yes!’ So, here we are. I’ve now got orange, tiger nails 😂😂
I’ve read a fair few books. Especially auto-biographies… This, might be the best I’ve read. It’s really sad to read, when you think about how Matthew Perry’s life ended! Would definitely recommend 👊
