are technically in the running for a top 5 pick right now, but if Minnesota finally hits their stride or starts winning a few games down the stretch...
I'd keep an eye on J.J. McCarthy as a Kirk Cousins succession plan.
@doulbedoink
It's so so so difficult to repeat the magic of a season like that. Brain drain, injury luck, the expense of keeping a core together...
The window is not large.
@AustinRocc
Jimmy Butler got greedy and took it out on his teammates. This is the same story we see over and over with him. He was wrong to paint them as losing players. He's just a selfish dude.
If you remove every scoring play from the Minnesota Vikings this season, their record drops from 10-2 to 0-12, LAST PLACE in the NFC 😳
Are they the fakest team in the NFL this season?
The Timberwolves got cooked by Memphis' size in the playoffs and promptly traded for Rudy Gobert.
The Timberwolves got cooked by the dynamic Kyrie/Luka backcourt in the playoffs and promptly traded up for Rob Dillingham.
Tim Connelly likes to solve problems in big ways.

have LSU's former DEF coordinator as their DB coach, Patrick Peterson as a veteran CB mentor, and Justin Jefferson as their franchise cornerstone.
Minnesota would already be home for Derek Stingley Jr.

Free agent F OG Anunoby intends to sign a five-year, $212.5 million contract to return to the New York Knicks, sources tell ESPN. Deal will include a player option and a trade kicker.
Change is hard and simplicity is often unappreciated but as a state FLAG, this is a very strong design.
Referencing the North Star, sky blue waters, and the shape of Minnesota while maintaining an entirely unique construction is so impressive.
Kirk Cousins started out playing about as bad as we've ever seen him play and then started uncorking absolute miracle bombs to Jefferson in high stake moments in the second half. Kevin O'Connell might've cracked the code.
VERY INTERESTING:

WR Jalen Nailor is considered "more talented" than
#Steelers
WR George Pickens 😳
Minnesota has a "walking highlight reel" who will "emerge" as a TOP 10 pass catcher this season 👀
Positives about Kevin O'Connell:
- McVay disciple (obviously)
- Oversaw the Kupp explosion (JJ could go nuts in '22)
- Super Bowl experience
- McVay/Shanahan connections for coaching staff
- Offensive mind will be a good change
- He's not a jerk

Kwesi Adofo-Mensah gave up a sizable haul for his guys, but the Vikings just got their QB and pass rusher... That's how you spend your picks. That's how you build an identity. This is huge.
I'm not afraid to say it. This is the first time that I've felt that Kirk Cousins is the Minnesota Vikings MVP. They're relying on him and he's delivering.
Why do we bash “dead-beat” coaches for not being there for their QBs but we never question if Kirk Cousins has bad vibes? Or if he's just unpleasant to be around?

You can almost start to see the vision for the post-Conley/Gobert Timberwolves...
It makes me think about how Jimmy Butler and Tom Thibodeau threw massive temper tantrums at the expense of the franchise and 22 year old Karl Anthony-Towns took the entire brunt of the blame (and is still taking the blame to this day).
This read makes me think about how Karl-Anthony Towns said he didn’t like Thibodeau because he cares too much about basketball and everyone was like, “wow that guy must really suck at coaching” instead of asking any questions about the other guy
This comeback was so important because if the Vikings have a *horrific* start in any of their playoff games, not a single player in that locker room will believe the game is over.
Kevin O'Connell values the head coach & QB relationship more than ANYTHING else. For the first time (maybe ever) the Minnesota Vikings will be fully, completely dedicated to their quarterback.
I think it's fair to say that Minnesota overpaid for Dallas Turner but the Vikings desperately needed a young building block on the defensive side of the ball *this* season. Turner's traits set him apart in this class. He could be really special under Brian Flores.
Now that the entire Vikings fanbase in united in their desire to move on from Mike Zimmer, Minnesota is totally going to rattle off three consecutive fluky wins.
I just hope Harrison Smith gets to do more than babysit bad CBs and mitigate busted coverages in the Brian Flores scheme. Let him hit some QBs for old times sake 🙏
The entire Bengals fanbase interpreting this as "the Bengals are trading for Justin Jefferson" after not being able to afford their own star WR is soooooo crazy 😭
The Vikings have an offensive schemer HC, elite pass catchers, bookend tackles, a mad scientist DC who's leading a defensive rebuild, and financial flexibility.
Some rookie QB is about to hit the jackpot.
