The Telegraph just fucking doxxed my boyfriend.
They didn't give individual comment,
@OULGBTQ
's comment specified that there was loads of online hate from this, then
@Telegraph
decided to specifically name committee members for no reason.
This is horrific. I'm scared for the people I love having their rights taken away and now my own party is part of that.
Please, if you consider yourself an ally, speak out.
The Cass Review must be a watershed moment for the NHS’s gender identity services.
My response for
@UKLabour
underlining our support for the Cass Review’s evidence-led recommendations and our determination to put children’s health and wellbeing above the political fray 👇🏻
SWP taking credit for the event my boyfriend is organising.
They try to turn every protest into an advert for themselves, it's so fucking annoying, especially when the media buys it and the actual organisers become associated with them.
Wow, LGBT+ Labour aren't even condemning the blocker ban. The statement is better than nothing, but there's 0 acknowledgement here of how reckless and harmful Streeting's decision is.
A child growing up in poverty is more likely to have poorer literacy/numeracy, worse health &, as an adult, a lower income, than the rest of us.
And a shorter life.
If we’re serious about eradicating child poverty & supporting families, it’s time to scrap the 2-child limit. 👇
"It's publicly available"
That wasn't the case at the time, with committee personal information being temporarily redacted due to the twitter TERF hate-mob targeting them.
Also that's not an excuse to publicise irrelevant personal info to thousands after a pile-on.
@Glinner
This will affect my partner, who is 21. Stop pretending this is about children, you just hate trans people and want them to go away, and you're happy for life-saving treatment to be taken away from them for that to happen.
@LGBTLabour
@wesstreeting
This is better than nothing but it doesn't even condemn this reckless and harmful decision. No wonder we're being walked all over, not even LGBT+ Labour will stand up for us.
This is awful. Not only is she promoting transphobic conspiracies and still has the whip, she is a whip herself.
If a Labour leader allowed a whip to say that homosexuality was caused by pornography, either the whip would go or the leader would go within a month.
Obviously, a lot of people were angry about Labour MP Tonia Antoniazzi tweeting transphobic dogwhistles, but I’m actually more concerned that she seems to be endorsing conspiracy theories about an imagined link between the existence of trans people, and pornography.
@WingsScotland
@OULGBTQ
@Telegraph
Are you confused about a gender nonconforming person not conforming to your idea of how a gender nonconforming person would be labelled
In continuing to praise and promote Wes Streeting, LGBT+ Labour have catastrophically failed in their duty to stand up for trans rights.
We will continue to see frontbenchers take the side of bigots every time if we keep letting them get away with it.
It was great to meet with
@wesstreeting
&
@AshleyDalton_MP
last week to reconfirm their commitments to the LGBT+ community.
With a focus on how a Labour government can make trans healthcare fit for purpose and bring down NHS waiting times for all.
Important!!! We are urging everyone to join our events and demonstration outside the Oxford Union, to show support for the trans community and to remind those who would deny the existence and joyful, life-filled, humanity of trans people that love is always stronger than hate.
It takes a rare depth of obsession and hate to wake up on the morning of Easter Sunday, and think that you need to rant from your position of influence about a vulnerable minority group
I hope everyone's having a more peaceful Easter and TDOV than Dominic Cummings is
🏳️⚧️🐣
My message of hope on Trans Day of Visibility: 'trans' does not exist, the sex you were born with is your sex, calling yourself something else is self-delusional words infinitely weaker than biology & evolution, 'trans' is a psyop from deluded and/or evil people, but it's only a
@labtowin
You knowingly got multiple transphobes elected to internal Labour positions and are the only faction to not denounce transphobia in the party
I just… how? How did you type this out and press send without thinking ‘I should maybe check my source for this, because it might’ve been a fever dream’?
@LabourList
Any serious article that discusses criticism of Rosie Duffield really should include the context of why she faces criticism (history of transphobic remarks including medical misinformation and insinuating on GB news that trans people weren't victims of the Nazis)
Labour will treat transgender people with dignity and respect.
The Tories are using trans people as a political football - this is unacceptable.
#BBCDebate
Starmer said that 16 year olds shouldn't socially transition, supported trans pupils being outed to their parents by teachers, and is now denying that trans men are men.
To any ally in Labour, it should be obvious that he needs to go as soon as is electorally feasible.
We at Leicester Labour Soc stand against transphobia. Always have, always will.
I was proud to co-write this with
@AlexAlexaBurt
, and I'm thankful to the 32 other clubs that signed. Labour Students is united on this.
And thanks to
@CelynBennett
for the Welsh translation 🏴🏳️⚧️🌹
We and 32 other Labour clubs stand against the revisionism of Nazi atrocities.
It is essential that this shocking incident receives an independent disciplinary outcome, not a political decision.
Solidarity with the trans community 🌹🏳️⚧️✊
Reminder to everyone that LTW knowingly got a transphobe elected to the CAC, and is the only major org not to denounce transphobia.
No ally should associate with them.
Meet the Labour to Win recommended NEC candidates for the 2024 Internal Labour Party Elections 🌹🌹
We're excited to recommend a fantastic slate of CLP Rep for this year's NEC elections
Please nominate them at your next CLP meeting
Fuck. How did we get to the point where such prominent Labour politicians are able to say such openly transphobic things?
If you consider yourself an ally in the party but are still personally promoting people like Streeting, Starmer, and now Sarwar, consider the following 🧵
“It’s very simple: a man has a penis and a woman has a vagina.”
Discourse over trans rights in Scotland has alienated voters, says Anas Sarwar, leader of the Scottish Labour Party.

@adamboultonTABB
This is better than nothing I guess, but it rings hollow. Our trans rights record this year has been abysmal:
We went back on self-ID and said it would've helped predators.
Keir said that 16 is too young to even *socially* transition.
Rosie Duffield.
Actions > words
On Transgender Day of Remembrance, we remember the many trans people whose lives have been tragically cut short by violence.
The Labour Party will always stand with LGBT+ people.
Labour members are united in anguish at the Prime Minister's horrific comments this week.
Keir Starmer's response in Parliament was good, but we have to back words up with action. Sign our open letter to the Leadership now 👇🏳️⚧️
@LGBTLabour
@RishiSunak
@Keir_Starmer
It's really dishonest to describe someone who supports teachers outing trans kids to their parents, forced de-transition of trans minors, and trans segregation in hospitals this way. I used to have a lot of respect for LGBT+ Labour but this is just pinkwashing.
@Garybro82547780
Follow the sources if you want to dig into it but I'm pretty sure the Museum of Jewish Heritage knows their stuff when it comes to the Holocaust
I don't usually endorse slates, but the transphobia situation is dire, and the people I love are in danger.
Only SF have consistently stood up to hate wherever they see it, instead of saying 'trans rights' one day and promoting transphobes the next.

📣 CALLING ALL LONDONERS 📣
London Regional Conference is fast approaching, and we're excited to announce our recommended candidates for the London Regional Exec Committee
Please nominate your Division's recommended CLP reps at your next CLP meeting 🌹🌹
My boyfriend received a mailed death threat from one of Stock's insane fans. She says she condemns it but at the same time wants to leverage it to get them to stop criticising her.
And this was after she praised the previous hateful pile-on.
@AddiHD02
This is awful, and you know very well (or you would do, if you ever engaged with what I think) that I condemn it wholeheartedly. Now you've experienced this, do you reconsider decision to defame me with total lies and distortions, increasing likelihood of retribution against me?
@AnnelieseDodds
As a queer person this post feels pretty insulting considering your conduct towards my community over the past year. You don't get to side with bigots every step of the way then pretend to still be an ally.
I wish this were still true. We've thrown trans people under the bus, and the very least LGBT+ Labour can do is acknowledge this failure, yet they continue to provide cover for the leadership to treat our community as an acceptable sacrifice.
@Falconet2022
@TLDRNewsUK
@adrianhughes0
Each one of these is a terrible justification for suspension.
Demanding adherence to an arbitrary idea of patriotism is especially disturbing.
Can you believe this guy used to be a comedian? Now not only is his main occupation encouraging twitter pile-ons against queer people but can't even put together a passable joke while he does it.
I'm glad to see this covered by LabourList.
Doesn't make up for the time that they published a conspiracy and misinformation-laden opinion piece by a representative of a trans-eliminationist organisation for the sake of 'balance', but this article itself is pretty good.
🚨 New:
@LabourStudents
groups at dozens of universities have released a joint statement condemning the national party "in the strongest possible terms" - after Rosie Duffield said Labour had dismissed claims of transphobia and antisemitism against her.
So much racism in the replies. Jovan is extensively qualified for the role, but so many just see the colour of his skin and claim he can't be qualified because he must be a 'diversity pick'. It's sad to see but not very surprising.
@LabourStudents
Really disappointing. There were so many good options, but this motion doesn't recommend policy whatsoever.
I wonder which would have passed if the vote wasn't by FPTP (a baffling choice when there were like 10 options)
I'm running for
@OpenLabour
committee to fight for trans rights and the end of austerity, and to use my comms experience to revitalise our social media 🌹
Being a member of the Labour party has been awful for my mental health. The open corruption, the bigotry, the 'progressives' and 'allies' cheering it on. It's maddening.
It's been known for ages that scrapping the two child cap would be an immensely impactful and cost effective policy to address poverty, particularly child poverty.
~£1.3B a year to lift ~250,000 kids out of poverty. It's the obvious, ethical choice.
#ScrapTheCap
Prioritising car-use increases traffic congestion. If you shut down bus lanes, busses get stuck in traffic, so fewer people take them, and instead clog the roads with more cars.
Real pro-driver policy means making alternatives to driving viable.
We are a nation of drivers.
Most of us use a car every day and, for many, life would be difficult without their car.
But too often, drivers feel under attack.
That changes today with a long-term plan to improve drivers' experience on the road.
Here’s how 👇🧵
Most conservatives voted against gay marriage, civil partnerships, and gay adoption. The Truss leadership contest was an arms race of transphobic dog-whistling.
How can anyone seriously think that the Tories care about LGBT+ people?
The comments here are vile, calling trans acceptance 'anti-scientific'.
We were taught 2 biologically-defined genders in primary school the same way we were taught that there were 3 states of matter.
Both, upon further inspection, are incomplete approximations of the truth.
We’re delighted to announce
@ClaraMBarker
as the new IOP Inclusion and Diversity Representative.
Dr Barker says: “I look forward to working with different groups who share a passion for physics but feel they cannot achieve their maximum potential. (1/2)
The way the government treats disabled people is nothing short of sadistic. Any excuse is taken to deny them the support they need. It needs to change.
@RachelCDailey
I was kicked off ESA last year cos I told them I live with my partner. That was it, they knew nothing about her, if she worked, how much she earned, nothing.
The idea that disabled people aren't even allowed to love without losing the help we need is disgusting to me.
All set up after an incredible first day at
@OxfordStudents
! It's a privilege to spend the next year here working for all students, and particularly to be the first ever trans Oxford SU President - at such a difficult time for trans rights in the UK, representation really matters
Transphobia must not be given a free pass.
At this point, Starmer should not be an acceptable figure to personally promote or praise, only begrudgingly tolerated until it is practicable for him to be removed.
This, let's say "diplomatic", approach is insanely short-term thinking. Sure, maybe Wes is more likely to engage (though he has already firmly picked a side), but it shows that transphobic decisions will receive no condemnation, and further incentivises them in the future.
@LabourStudents
@wesstreeting
Every exec member I spoke to promised to be an active ally of trans rights, and yet here LS is promoting someone who supports the forced de-transition of trans youth.
@thelewiswarner
I'm glad to see this, but it's strange to see after the LS account promoted Wes Streeting on the day he doubled down on this lethal decision. It would be good to get a proper clarification from LS as to their position.
We’re incredibly disappointed in Anneliese Dodd’s decision to meet with the LGB Alliance, a fringe group which undermines our fight for LGBT+ equality. (1/2)
The government's guidance, to make teachers out trans kids & teens to their parents, will cause child abuse incidents. This is obvious to anyone who has talked to trans youth about their experiences.
But the Tories never cared about children, only 'anti-woke' pointscoring.
This guidance like many of this Govts policies is cruel & unworkable - its upsetting to think of how many trans kids will see this come up as news today when in school & feel unsafe.
The “guidance” is non-statutory, I hope schools put their students' needs ahead of Govts hate.
Well said. I'm so glad to see the vast majority of the Labour Students committee standing up for what's right.
Solidarity with the trans community, now and forever 🌹🏳️⚧️
Given the horrific abuse some of our young members have faced, I and other members of the National Labour Students Committee want to share a message of solidarity with our trans members and allies.

Glad this was covered, thanks. We had two last minute signups so the total signing onto this statement is 35, but those were after we already began circulating it.
The results are in... here are your newly elected Sabbatical Officers, NUS Delegates, Student Trustees and RAG Charities!
Congratulations to everyone, and a massive thank you to all of the candidates for taking part in this year's election, and thank you all for voting!
The implication here is horrible. I shouldn't have to tolerate the deaths of >13,800 children just because of homophobia in Gaza.
Not that people who make this argument care about homophobia. They just want bombs to keep dropping and for us queers to shut up about it.
This is so very important. Trans rights has support in young and online spaces, but is ignored elsewhere.
CLPs and unions are important places to talk to people about the importance of trans rights, and broaden the coalition for change.
Let's get talking and get signatures 👇
We've absolutely smashed our open letter milestones over the weekend - thank you to everybody who's signed already ✊🏳️⚧️
Share with your fellow CLP members, LGBT+ Officers and union branches now, and let's get to 1,000 by the end of the week!
Tory policy announcements so far:
Mandatory 'volunteering' for young people
Tax breaks for pensioners
Scrapped degree programs for young people
Anyone else noticing a pattern?
I think that this should be the bare minimum response to transphobia by our frontbenchers if you're to consider yourself an ally of the trans community.
@SprightlyMonkey
@LGBTLabour
Yes, most aren't doing anything. But things that can be done that currently most 'allies' in the party don't do:
Condemning the politician by name
Not retweeting/praising the politician once people forget about the incident
Making sure people don't forget the incident
I'm usually averse to slates, but Socialist Future have shown that they're the only ones who take the transphobia crisis seriously.
At a time when my loved ones are being targeted, I'll be voting for those who will truly fight for their rights.
🚨 BALLOTS HAVE DROPPED 🚨
If you’re a registered Young Labour or Labour Students member, you should have ballots in your emails now!
Vote for trans rights, for a Young Labour Trade Unionist Network, for real climate action - vote for a socialist future 🌹
As a bisexual with an amazing non-binary partner I'm particularly disgusted by Duffield's history of queerphobic comments.
The time for it to be addressed by
@UKLabour
is long overdue.
@LabourWillow
Wes has shown himself consistently on the side of TERFs. Only real pressure can change his mind, and to do that, the scale of harm his decision will cause cannot be obfuscated as the statement does.

His leadership won't end over trans rights because the PLP are largely complicit, but we can't keep pretending that it's acceptable to support transphobic positions and still be leader, or Labour figures will continue on the path of transphobia knowing they'll meet no resistance

I'm usually against endorsing whole slates, but the situation in the party right now is dire.
The party now considers atrocity denial acceptable, and is allowing the worst crimes of austerity to continue.
We need an LS that will fight for Labour and speak up against injustice.
After a vote of the committee, we are happy to announce we will be endorsing the
@socialist_yl
slate of candidates in the Labour Students election.
Students are crying out for a bold, progressive alternative from Labour and Socialist Future candidates will stand up for it 🌹
Transphobia has infected all levels of Labour and virtually nothing has been done to fight it. A party definition of transphobia is a desperately needed first step toward fighting transphobia and making Labour a party that LGBT+ people can trust.
