900,000 Aussies receive an averaged amount of $10,000 a year in negative gearing benefits for housing (tax discount on personal income) 3.7% of the Australian population utilise RE NG which the other 96.3% do not receive. Just to assist with investment speculation in housing.

Why is everyone angry at the RBA for increasing rates when that anger should be directed at APRA for allowing mortgages to be given with such poor serviceability regulations? High LVR, insufficient interest rate stress testing, allowing banking self regulation?

People who borrowed at retail rate of 2% with an APRA required stress test buffer of 2.5% (2019 onwards) will be very nervous. Banks who loaned out will be too. Avg retail rate now 4.35%. Only one more rate rise and many will be outside of their serviceability maximum.
