My Grandmother raised me. After she had a stroke, our family was forced to choose between paying for her medicine and our mortgage. As Governor, I’ll fight everyday so that no Virginia family will have to make that choice.
As long as we have 6 year olds dying from weapons that are meant for BATTLEFIELDS and not BACKYARDS, then yes...
You are going to get "ANOTHER GUN BILL".
We regulate eveything from tires to tabacco to teddy bears... but not for guns. My bill fixes that.

Simone Biles is the most decorated gymnast, has four moves named after her, has won Nationals with broken toes, won Worlds with kidney stones and survived years of sexual assault.
Many people complaining about her can’t complete a full cartwheel.

While my two-year-old twin boys may be cute right now, I'm curious at what age their skin will be demonized and weaponized against them. Those are the questions that brown and black mothers have to ask themselves every single day. That's why we march and why we demand change.
I wanted to take a minute to share some of my remarks from tonight.
To my supporters, donors, voters, and volunteers -- your support and friendship mean the world to me. Thank you for believing in this campaign. But I also want to be very clear: our work is far from over.
We need 2,000 retweets here. I’m Jennifer Carroll Foy. My whole life people have told me: “Wait your turn.” But Virginians in need can’t wait. I'm a Democrat & public defender running for governor. With your help I'm going to win. RT & follow this account if you're with me.

We need 3,000 retweets on our first TV ad: I am a public defender, a foster mom, and a Democrat running for Virginia Governor. Despite what some will tell you: a Black woman can win and we can make history.
A good reminder this week and always: everybody loves someone who has had an abortion.
I’ll always fight to protect, defend, and expand abortion access.
Today my campaign was endorsed by Gloria Steinem! I’m so honored she believes in me and my vision to advance gender equality in Virginia. Please retweet this far and wide to spread the news.
On this day in 1900, the Virginia Senate unanimously passed a bill that required separate cars for white and Black passengers aboard trains. This was Virginia’s first statewide segregation law.
I’ve been told to “wait your turn” all my life. That’s a familiar phrase that so many women with big ideas hear. But thankfully, we’ve ignored it and broken barriers as a result.
Retweet if you think it’s time for women to keep ignoring the naysayers.
It's very difficult to know where I — and so female cadets — would be in our lives without

's opinion in the United States v. Virginia allowing women to enroll at Virginia Military Institute.
Rest in power, Justice Ginsburg.

This crisis has forced us to reckon with a truth that's been just beneath the surface: working families don’t have what they need to thrive.
Today, I'm launching my campaign for Governor of Virginia because we need a leader who won't back down in the fight for what’s right.
Please retweet this. My name is Jennifer Carroll Foy. As a Delegate I helped expand Medicaid & reform our criminal justice system. Now I’m running for Governor of Virginia to bring bold new ideas to our state. Our election is June 8th. Please follow this account to help us win.
Proud to say I have received the second shot of my COVID-19 vaccine! It was quick and easy, and most importantly, it was necessary.
The way we will defeat this virus is for everyone to get their shot, wear their mask, and to follow CDC guidelines. Together, we can do this.
The police brutality we've seen against Black Americans is not new -- but it's still painful. I wrote a letter to my own sons, even if they're too young to fully understand.
Take a look and pass it on. Someone else's kids may need to hear it now.
I'm Jennifer Carroll Foy. I’ve spent my life fighting for families - as a public defender, foster mom, and Delegate. Now I’m running for Governor to move Virginia into the future and implement solutions for working people.
As a former public defender, I have seen the inequities in our criminal justice system firsthand. As Governor, I will repeal the death penalty in Virginia.
In case you missed it: our campaign was endorsed by
@GloriaSteinem
! I’m proud to have her support, and as Governor, I won’t stop my fight to empower women every single day.
And I want to be unequivocally clear: I am going nowhere. I pledge to stay in this fight to uplift marginalized communities, to uplift people who need the help, and to be a fighter for those who can’t fight for themselves.
I'm incredibly honored and humbled to have
@katieporteroc
's endorsement!
She has been a tireless advocate for working families, committed to rooting out corruption -- and I'm grateful for her support in our campaign.
Olympics may be diverse but it is not inclusive, especially for women.
Is it a bathing suit competition or is it the Olympics? Does a high cut bikini enhance performance?
Is it too much for a black woman to wear a cap to accommodate her natural hair?
Asking for a friend 🤔
This past week has been heavy on my heart. Late last night, I took some time to write a letter to my babies, Xander and Alex, about some of the thoughts on my mind. I hope you take the time to read it.
Insurrectionists don’t get arrested while attempting to overthrow the government and destroy our Democracy. The CBC Chair and Black women get arrested while trying to protect it 🤔
I want to take a moment to tell you all: Thank you. We’ve had such incredible momentum in our campaign for Virginia Governor – and it’s because of you. Thank you for believing in our campaign, and joining this journey.
People in power don’t look like me - and the status quo doesn’t protect families like mine. I'm running for Governor to move Virginia out of the failed status quo, and do what I’ve always done: help those who need it most.

I respect the work that former governor Terry McAuliffe has done. But to be frank, he is emblematic of the status quo that has simply left too many people behind.
We did it!
I feel deeply honored that my community has shown their trust in me once again to be their voice in the General Assembly.
I have dedicated my life to public service, and I do not take this responsibility lightly.
We can’t live like this.
We can’t teach like this.
We can’t learn like this.
We have to commit to paying our teachers a livable and competitive wage, NOW.

Almost every door I knocked in 2017 asked me to fight 4 Medicaid expansion. In just 2 months, 233,179 Virginians now have accessible, quality, affordable health insurance.

@TerryMcAuliffe
in the November election. Let's do everything we have to do. At the end of the day, we must win in November.
You better believe it! Let's make
@TerryMcAuliffe
our next governor. We both want progress in the Commonwealth, and I'll be there to make sure it happens under his leadership.
I want to heartily thank my friends
@JCarrollFoy
and
@JennMcClellanVA
. They each ran great primary campaigns and I'm looking forward to taking on Glenn Youngkin together. Greatest team ever assembled! Game on! 💥

I grew up in a community where people worked multiple jobs to barely make ends meet, where friends were victims of gun violence, and students didn’t have textbooks to take home.
I will be a leader who measures her achievement by how much I help those who need it most.
